Jonas

Like the rest of the east coast, we got slammed with Jonas the blizzard this weekend.  I honestly thought they'd get this one wrong. Which technically they did, but went the wrong way. Originally my area was supposed to get a dusting to maybe  six inches.  Well about 2ft of snow later, obviously they were a little off. Honestly, this storm wasn't that bad for us personally. Skip was off on Saturday, and we had no where to go. We never lost power, and with my foot injury, was prevented from shoveling. So there was a lot of eating, playing, relaxing and taking it easy. My favorite part was the snow ice cream we made that night...delicious!     Skip went back to work Sunday, and the girls and I spent another day watching football and more relaxing. The plows in our town were pretty decent, and the roads were clear enough by Sunday morning. So unlike the rest of the area around me, the girls had a regular start time for school today and we're all back into regular routine. I ev

Catch-Up

Oh hey! How's it going. I have this routine of blogging every day for a week, then none at all.  Let's see if I can find a better balance. Let's see if I can catch you up on the last month: So my foot still hurts. The fall I took on Christmas Eve is really taking it's time getting better. After an MRI and trip to my Dr, I learned it's a lisfrac sprain. Great that nothing was torn, but this is one of the worst sprains to have. Looking at around 6-8 weeks for recovery. And that's not until I can run, just walk without a brace probably. For someone who averaged 20 miles a week at least, it's a bit of a blow. But I'm trying to move on from crying about it. I'm finally able to do some pilates workouts, so that's something. Pre-MRI selfie...cause why not We celebrated Skip's birthday.  Low-key with just dinner out with the girls and an at-home movie, but it was nice to spoil my man for the day. Christmas break was spent with me sitting on the couch

Recap and Resolutions

Happy 2016! I had a very nice night ringing in the new year.  After a lazy afternoon, the girls and I ordered in dinner from our favorite local Italian place. After I put them to bed, I talked with my sis on the phone, then did a little work on novel #3. Skip was able to get home earlier than we thought, and we were able to watch an episode of Making a Murderer before midnight. We poured some drinks, and turned on the TV just in time to see the ball drop at midnight.  And as always, I was grateful NOT to be standing in the middle of Times Square. Standing for hours in one section unable to move or leave and use the bathroom? No thanks:) Afterwards, we watched another episode on Netflix and went to bed far too late. So as I sit here chugging my coffee, appropriately exhausted for the day, I can't help but think of what I hope to accomplish in this new year.  I've always been a fan of resolutions and make no apologies for that.  I'm not even always good at following them, but
