Me and Skip at my college graduation. I haven't been back there in over FOUR years. I cannot WAIT to go back to my Alumni Weekend in only three weeks!!!
I didn't have a chance to blog my miles last week, and so I just decided to wait until the end of the month to log my miles. I was really determined to get in 50 miles in August, but with everything going on (my Grandma, ever present knee injury, foot injury) I wasn't sure I'd get it in. Thursday August 15 - 3.1 mile run Friday - 2.2 mile run Saturday - 2.5 mile run Sunday - none Monday - 3 mile intervals Tuesday - none Wednesday - none Thursday August 22 - 3.2 mile run Friday - none Saturday - 0.5 mile walk Sunday - none Monday - 2.9 mile intervals Tuesday - 3.9 mile intervals Wednesday - none Thursday - 2.1 mile walk Friday - 2.6 mile intervals Saturday - 2.2 mile elliptical / 2.1 mile bike Weekly Total - 30.3 August total - 50 miles exactly!! BUT I DID!! I have to be honest, I'm super proud of myself for pushing and getting in the miles. I'm not sure what my goals will be for September. I might try and push for 60 miles, but I might...
Don't let this fresh-looking face fool you.... ....Up until two weeks ago, Baby C hated sleeping. I talked about it a little bit here in regards to her swaddle. But after that post it just seemed to get worse. She wouldn't sleep swaddled, or unswaddled. Most of our nights looked like this.....greasy, exhausted, zombie-like Mommy and a baby who had been up for two hours starting at 11:00 pm already. The best option we got was swaddling her in the beginning of the night while we were still up. She slept for a few hours like that most of the time. Then we would go unswaddle her before we went to bed. She would wake for a bit, sleep a bit, wake a bit, etc. It was miserable. She was napping during the day pretty good, but with a very energetic three year old running around, there was no opportunity for me to nap with her. Something had to give. I was prepared for sleepless nights when she was a newborn. But after ...
Good morning everyone! I hope this holiday-for-some start to the week is giving everyone a little more chance to relax. Today I want to introduce you to someone very important. Someone you may have seen before, or depending on how long you've been around here, you may not have. This is Shiba. No, she's not a fox. She's our OB {original baby} and she's a Shiba Inu. Real original on the name, I know. We got Shiba when she was only 4 months old, back in the spring of 2005. Skip had just come home from Iraq. He had wanted a dog for years, and with our wedding only a few months away, we figured it was the perfect time. Let me tell you, we searched for weeks and played with tons of dogs before we stumbled upon Shiba. She was a skinny little thing, all curled up in the back of her cage at the pet store. She was shaking a bit, as though she was afraid of the world. One look at her, and I was hooked. I was not a huge dog person at the time, so if we were going to get ...
That's great! I'm sure you'll have a ton of fun. I always love going back to my old campus.
