Let's Talk Babies!!

Image
I'm so excited to be linking up again with Becky...I just love talking about all things baby!!! 1. Tell us your favorite baby names? Aside from your own babies, if you have some :) For a boy I love the names Derek, Aiden, and Bradley.  For girls I love Addison, Savannah, Cassandra, and Madison 2. Show me your "dream" nursery {can be your baby's nursery or one that you love}   Obviously not my nursery, but this one just looks so girlie, serene, and beautiful.  Image found here 3. How many children would you like to have? How far apart? I've said this a few times on here, but we're done having children.  In a perfect world I'd have 4, but 2 sweet girls is what we are blessed with and sticking to for a variety of reasons.  Emmy was 30 months when Charlie was born.  If my pregnancies hadn't been so bad, I would have had the girls a little closer in age. 4. I've been calling my kids Little M and Baby C on this blog for as long as I can remember {though in the waaaaay beginning I did use M's real name}.  But since they are not going to be little or baby-like for much longer, I wanted to use different names for them on here.  So going forward I will use these nicknames, Emmy Charlie

Their Own Lullaby

We sing a lot of songs at bedtime in this house.  'Baby Mine', 'Silent Night' at Christmas time, 'Twinkle, Twinkle', etc.  But I wanted the girls to each have a song of their own...a song that was special just for them.  After some good long thinking and a little tweaking, each of my girls was sung 'their' song just after they were born.  Little M's song is 'O Danny Boy'....except I changed it to 'O Meredith' Oh Meredith, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying 'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow 'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow Oh Meredith, oh Meredith, I love you so. Baby C has her own sweet song too.  Hers required no changing...it is Amazing Grace.  This is her song because Grace is her middle name.      Ama...

Show Us Your Life - Baby Names

Today I'm participating in Kelly's Korner , Show Us Your Life.  Today's topic is Show Us Your Life - Your Kid's (or future kid's) names Skip and I had been discussing baby names since we first got married.  So when I got pregnant, we were pretty well set on names {or so we thought!}  We weren't going to find out the sex of the baby, so we had to come up with both boy and girl names.  Our last name is uber Italian, and so we said we wanted more European sounding first names to balance it out.  We also wanted names that were traditional, but not too common. For a girl we had already decided on Meredith.  I have a friend named Meredith and have always loved the name.  Thankfully Skip agreed 100%. {that was easy!} For a boy we had always talked about naming him Keith {after my dad's dad}.  And we were happy with that decision until I was about 6 months pregnant and began to change my mind.  I still liked the name Keith a lot, but I just couldn't...
