Popsicle Party

Image
A few weeks ago, Charlie had her Popsicle Party at school.  It's a fun playdate for the kids to get to know their teachers and new classmates.  We've gone the past few years with Emmy, and now it was Charlie's turn! She had a great day, running around and hugging as many people as she could.  She is definitely a little love and I know her class is lucky to have her. I'm so proud of my little baby!

Charlie's First Day of School

Image
Today my baby went off to preschool.  My baby!  My sweet precious girl that has been home with me for over four years now. Now someone else will watch over her all day.  Today and tomorrow are half days, but after that, she'll be gone days a week, full day of school It's going to be a big change. I'm not sure she's ready. I'm not sure I'm ready. But with other things in life, sometimes you just have to jump right in and hope to come out okay on the other end. We'll both struggle, but both thrive as well. And for today?  She walked in confidently...only waving goodbye to me as she started exploring. Even I haven't shed a tear yet {though that could change} So now I'm off to hang out with my man :)

First Grade

Image
My sweet little baby headed off to first grade this morning!  I cannot believe how big she's gotten. She could barely sleep last night, she was so excited.  I have never met a child who loves school more than my Emmy. This is the first year we didn't get to walk her to her classroom.  We just dropped her by the main door and in she went. This is her fourth year at this school, so we're veteran parents at this point. But I would be lying if I said my heart didn't lurch in my throat as I hugged her goodbye.  It's never easy to let someone else take care of your kid. But as every year, she will shine at school.  She'll make new friends and learn so much. And hey, at least I didn't cry this year! Now I can't promise the same won't happen on Thursday for Charlie's first day!

First Day of Kindergarten

Image
So remember how calm and cool and collected I was yesterday about Emmy starting kindergarten?  Yeah well, that all flew right out the window this morning.  I cannot stop crying at how big my girl is! She did absolutely wonderful though.  She was a bit nervous, but calmed right down as soon as we got to school.  Her pre-k teacher from last year came by to see them all go into their new rooms which helped her a lot...though it only made me cry more..what a wonderful school we have chose for her! Emmy walked confidently right in to her classroom, gave her teacher the flowers she had begged me to buy for her yesterday, and found her desk straight away and sat down.  Meanwhile I'm standing there all like desk?!?  She gets a desk?!?  How is she so big!! One of her good friends from the passed two years is sitting right next to her, so I knew she was fine.  That combined with Charlie screaming her little head off kept our goodbyes short and sweet, which ...
