Superbowl Menu

Image
Today is the most depressing day of the year.  No really .  It's only the beginning of February, so we still have plenty of winter chill left, and since last night was the Superbowl, there is no more football.  None, zero, nada.  Thankfully I still have the 2012 Superbowl on DVR, so I can just watch that whenever I feel the need. Anywho, we obviously hosted a Superbowl party last night.  I swear it's more of a holiday around here than most!  I spent the whole day cooking and cleaning!  It wasn't as big as our party last year , but it still deserved our proper attention.  Now I have found that the easiest way to menu plan for a party these days is to head over to my Pinterest account and start searching.  Most of the food I made last night I found on Pinterest.  What did we do without it?!?! Here are the foods I came up with Tortilla roll-ups found here Pizza Dip found here Chili...not found from Pinterest though:) Buffalo Chicken Bites...

Forgotten Kiss Cookies

There have been a lot of home projects and things going on in my house, but none of them Pinterest inspired. So this week I'm sticking with another recipe! {and really, who doesn't need another recipe this time of year....it's all about the baking!!} Saturday night my stomach wasn't feeling too bad, so I decided to chance it with some chocolate.  But since I've been avoiding it at all costs recently, not just any chocolate would do.  I wanted it to be something different, something special .  After obviously turning to Pinterest, I came across this: Source: tastykitchen.com via Mommy on Pinterest PERFECT in my opinion. So Emmy and I strapped on our aprons and got to work.  Here is the recipe I followed: 1 Cup Softened Margarine {I used margarine, I would use butter next time..dough was too soft} 1/3 Cup Sugar 1/3 Cup Light Brown Sugar (packed) 1 Teaspoon Vanilla 2 Cups Flour 1 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips {I only had regular ones on hand...trust me, use t...

M&M Cookie Bars

Image
I'm back for another week of 'Hey that's Pin-tastic!' I had to make a baked good the other day to drop off at an event at Emmy's school.  I wanted something nut and peanut free, and super cute to boot.  So obviously I headed to Pinterest, my go-to for recipes these days, and came across these bad boys. Source: fantasticfamilyfavorites.blogspot.com via Mommy on Pinterest Don't they look amazing!  I've made M&M cookie bars in the past, but these never came out looking as good as this, so I gave them a try.  I changed the recipe slightly...here's the one I used: 2 1/8 cups flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 12 TBSPs butter (1 1/2 sticks), melted and cooled slightly 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 cup white sugar 1 large egg 1 large egg yolk 2 tsps vanilla extract 1 12oz bag M&M's, divided Preheat oven to 325*.  Line a 9x13" pan with tin foil, and then spray the tin foil with cooking spray.  Set aside. Mix together the butter and sugar.  Mix...

Hey that's Pin-Tastic - Tattoo Style!

Image
Thank you all so much for the birthay wishes last week. You all sure know how to make a girl feel loved:)  I promise to be back tomorrow with a full recap of the big 3-0 celebrations, but today I have to link up with my girl AP for her Hey that's Pin-Tastic Link-Up!  This week I'm doing something a little different...a little creation I didn't actually have to do any work for! Months ago I found this pin on Pinterest.... Source: goo.gl via Alfreda on Pinterest ...and I just loved it.  I had wanted to get another tattoo, this one for my girls, and I knew this was the perfect spot for it. I hemmed and hawwed a bit over what wording I wanted, and finally decided on "I love you most" with the girls initials.  I chose this since every day Emmy and I have the following conversation. Me: I love you Emmy. Emmy: I love you too Mommy. Me: I love you more. Emmy: I love you most. So I thought it would be the perfect reminder of my sweet girls. Then this past weekend, Skip s...

The Story of the Black Door - Project Pinterest

Image
I am blaming AP entirely for my current obsession with all sorts of crafts, painting, baking going on in my house.  Seriously, I'm obsessed!  So obviously I will be linking up again for her Pinterest Project Mondays!! I found this pin on Pinterest and let it sit with me awhile.. Source: thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com via Mommy on Pinterest I liked how formal and more expensive it made the whole room look, but a black door is pretty bold, so I wasn't sure I could make the plunge cause I knew it would be a total pain to repaint it if I hated it.  But after thinking about it a lot, I decided what the heck.  I already had black paint on hand, so Saturday night {wow I'm a loser} I got to work.  {I had Rustoleum semi-gloss paint on hand so that's what I used.  It is what is on the outside of our front door as well} All white everything when we first moved in The only picture I could find...though the paint color is different now No going back now!! All done!!...

Project Pinterest - Easiest Pasta Bake!

Image
I'm so excited for another week linking up with the fabulous AP for Project Pinterest! ; This week I decided to go with a recipe instead of a craft.  And this is truly the easiest, most delicious recipe out there!! I was inspired by this pin Source: pearls-handcuffs-happyhour.blogspot.com via Mommy on Pinterest called Two-Timin' Pasta Bake.  I had all the ingredients on hand so I threw it on our weekly menu one day last week. You will need: - one box of pasta - one jar of marinara sauce - one jar of Alfredo sauce - one two cup bag of mozzarella cheese - a little Parmesan cheese for sprinkling. First you boil the pasta and cook to al dente. Next, mix together the two jars of sauce and the mozzarella cheese.  Stir to combine Poor sauce mixture over the pasta and put the whole thing in a 9x13 pan. Bake uncovered in a 350* oven for 20-25 min. When it comes out, sprinkle with some Parmesan cheese and devour. Umm, we devoured it before I could get a picture! This was so simpl...

Project Pinterest - Your First Breath Took Ours Away

Image
I could not be more excited to be linking up with the fabulous AP again this week.  I just *love* checking out every one's Pinterest posts last week!! ; I recently came across this pin {the picture did not link back to anything on Pinterest} and it really spoke it me.  I thought it would be a beautiful addition to our home and a real tribute to the girls.  I didn't really think anything of it though until I was wandering around Lowes with Charlie, and stumbled upon these two clocks.  "Love makes a house a home" "We do not remember the days we remember the moments" I thought they were beautiful and loved the sayings written in them.  I set the clocks to the times the girls were born, 8:39pm for Emmy and 10:56am for Charlie, and left the batteries out so the time will stay on the clock. I then grabbed some 8x10 black frames from the Dollar Tree and got some newborn pictures printed of the girls. Baby Emmy Baby Charlie I was a little stumped about the wording...

I really could not be more excited about AP's link-up today.  Every since I finally caved and joined Pinterest, I've been obsessed!  Once I got the app on my phone?  Forget it...I could pin all night long!  But one of the things I love best is when I actually DO the things I've pinned! This is why AP's Project Pinterest could not be more perfect!  {alliteration much?}  I'm so excited to share some of the things I've done and see what you all have been doing! www.iloveyoumorethancarrots.com"> textarea> Now I wish I could say I had something super cute and amazing for my first pin, but it's really pretty easy and simple, but definitely practical!  I saw this pin  and couldn't help but daydream about all the room I'd have in my cabinet if I put all my spices up!  I simply ordered these off of Amazon and got to work as soon as they came. It really is the simplest thing ever, you just peal off the back and stick them on!  You do have ...
