ER Visit #3

Image
It's funny the stereotypes people still have about little boys and little girls.  I have heard people talk about how rough and tumble boys are, and how nicely little girls will sit and play.  I however, know different.  I know plenty of little boys who will sit and play quietly for hours.  I also know some girls like my Charlie bear who make even the most famous daredevil look like an amateur.  Girl is constantly trying to jump off things, run at top speeds, and climb up on everything.  I am already no stranger to the ER with this one. Well apparently Charlie wasn't too happy with all the attention Emmy got last week for starting school and she wanted to make sure we paid attention to her as well.  Friday had been a great day.  Emmy had a half day, so after naptime we spent the afternoon at a big play date with our friends.  The girls and I came home for dinner, baths, then off to bed.  Skip was working and I was excited for an evening o...

ER Trip #2

Oh my sweet Charlie Bear.   My littlest is definitely responsible for all the grey hairs I have coming in recently. Last Thursday night {after spending the entire day making sure she didn't dive bomb off some piece of furniture she was climbing on} Skip and I turned our backs for one second and the next thing we knew poor Charlie had fallen off the edge of the couch. Tiny bump on the head and a little chocolate and she was back to normal.  Though with my luck I should definitely have some rug cleaner on hand before giving her any chocolate in the living room. Then on Friday, I came home from a run around 6.  I took Charlie upstairs to change her diaper.  While we were up there, I noticed she was wheezing a little.  She also had a runny nose and felt a touch warm.  We snuggled on the couch till bedtime, then brought her upstairs to go to sleep.  She was pretty fussy, and starting to cough a little strangely, but we got her to go down okay. Just a few m...

Apparently I Look Good in Blue

Remember when I casually mentioned that I had fallen down my front steps on Monday? Well as I slipped, I grabbed the railing with my right hand to stop from totally face-planting on the cement .  It worked, but left my shoulder a little sore . It really hurt that day, same with Tuesday.  Wednesday morning it felt a little better, but got progressively worse as the day went on.  So last night Skip and I had an uber exciting pre-Valentine's Day date night in the ER.  I figured it was best to get some x-rays and get it all checked out. Thankfully it doesn't appear to be anything too serious, just a sprained rotator cuff.  If it doesn't get better I'll have to follow up with an orthopedist, but the doc said it should heal on its own! Apparently I don't have enough going on right now, so I needed to add a little something else to the mix.  And in case you are keeping score, that's another check in my " we need to move to Florida because it's too damn c...
