We're Back!

We're home from Florida!!  11 days...10 nights...5 different hotels....over 2,000 miles...two parents...one five year old...one three year old...and we all survived.  More than that actually, I would turn around and do it all again in a heartbeat {waking up to 68* here in Jersey didn't help either...I miss the heat}  I will have lots of posts coming up in the next few days.  I plan to recap each day of the trip, and then write up my tips for road-tripping with a toddler and preschooler...tips for Disney with little kids....and as we sadly became experts, how to survive Disney in the rain. Until then I'll be slowly getting back into life with cooking, cleaning, and laundry.  Oh how I miss hotel living already!!  Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with Day 1 - 14 hours in the car with two littles!

Your Best Disney Tips

Tomorrow is a big day in our house.  At 5:59 am I will groggily be sitting in front of the computer, waiting to make our Disney meal reservations promptly at 6:00 am!!  Yes, for four days and four nights this summer we will be in lovely Disney World!! I cannot WAIT!  Seriously, I might bust before we reach the summer.  This will be my fifth time at Disney, and I swear it gets more magical every time we go. When we went a few years ago, we did all have a fabulous time.  But we were staying with a friend, and just headed over for the day.  We didn't have a plan in place at all.  We just kind of wandered and did whatever we felt like. This time will be very different.  First off, we are staying on property at the new Art of Animation resort.  We'll be in one of the Little Mermaid rooms.  That alone is going to rock the girls world!  Then we'll have four days in the parks.  We are going to do Magic Kingdom, Hollywood...

Be Ready to Change

As I said yesterday , we as parents have to learn to roll with the punches.  Life, and even our children, throw a lot of curve balls at us.  So we've really gotta know when to duck. My older sister, who lives just under two hours away, was having a Fourth of July party on Saturday.  She lives about 5 minutes away from where my parents just moved, so I would stay with them for the night after the party. Skip was working, so he wouldn't be able to come with us.  But I was excited to head down with the girls, my sister always  throws a great party, and I was looking forward to spending some time with my parents. Skip left for work on Friday at 2pm, and we we're going to see him until Sunday morning then {he had to work a double that night} The girls and I were up at 5:30 am on Saturday to hit the road, only want to avoid being stuck on the Garden State Parkway in the middle of the summer. We made it there with no traffic, and headed right to my parent's house...

Family Roadtrip Time!

I have had this mental checklist in my head for a few weeks now, of things I need to get done before we start heading down to sunny Florida! {one of which is that I am looking for some guest bloggers!  Please let me know if you would like to do it!!}  Anyways, driving 23 hours with an infant and a potty-trained toddler makes me want to curl up in a closet and hide for awhile.  Well, I should clarify.  It's not as much the driving part, it's the amount of stuff we need to bring, and all the arrangements we have to make before hand.  I am DEFINITELY going to need a vacation once all this prepping and planning is done! So far I have.... - done some shopping as the girls need a few new warm weather items - picked up a few toys to give to Little M if the car ride really starts to get to her - get the dogs up-to-date on their shots and make arrangements for where they're going - get the house all taken care of {sorry guys it won't be empty, so no chance to rob it!} - ...
