Uncommon Goods

Image
A huge thank you to Uncommon Goods for sponsoring this post! A week before I was contacted by Uncommon Goods , I had received one of their catalogues in the mail.  Now, I know, we're all inundated with catalogues these days.  Most of them I simply toss in the trash.  But a few items caught my eye on the cover, and I started to flip through. Next thing you know, I had hopped on the computer and was clicking purchase for several gifts for my family.  I also earmarked other items to save for upcoming birthdays! {true story} So I absolutely jumped at the chance to review some of their items myself!  I mean, who doesn't want a little early Christmas gift for themselves? I'm embarrassed to admit that it took me about three days to finally chose what items I wanted...because there were so many good choices!  In the end I chose two very special gifts. The first is this bullet pen.  How cool is this?!  As a cop wife and writer, this could not be a more per...

Etsy is the  place to go for just about everything these days.  My family and I do a bulk of our Christmas and birthday shopping from there. I am here today to share with you one of the newest, and definitely the best, Etsy shops.... A Pocketful of FABulous. It is the go-to place for all your embroidery nee ds {and wants!} Linda is "ad dding A Pocketful of FABulous to your day with embroidered gifts, homes goods, and clothing!" She can do almost anything, but mainly centers around Disney.  Which is PERFECT for all you moms who love having custom shirts for your kids as you walk down Main Street in Magic Kingdom. I recently received this shirt from Linda: {it wasn't for review, she's my best friend.  But I just loved it so much I HAD to share it all with you!} Linda knows how much I love running, and Disney!  and so this shirt was perfect for me.  It fit like a glove, and the quality has been wonderful.  It does not ride up AT ALL while running {wh...

New Fall Finds

Image
We are officially knee deep in fall {in case you missed someone posting a picture of a PSL on Instagram}.  It's no secret that I attempt to cling to summer as long as I can.  But with highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's, I think I'm finally going to have to put away the flip flops. To ease the blow of the cooler temperatures, I always treat myself to a few new things to add to my wardrobe.  {By the way this is not a sponsored post, just things I bought recently that I'm loving!}  Kohls and Target have been my go-to places recently when I need clothes.  Almost every day in the fall, I can be seen in some combination of the follow: tall boots, skinny jeans, tank top, cardigan or tunic, scarf.  I know, pretty much what most women my age are wearing these days...but there's a reason...it's so cute and comfy!  I wanted to add a few tops in my wardrobe this year to help change things up a little.  Here are the pieces I got! Kohls: I actually got this...

Cute and Casual, not Oversized and Frumpy

Image
I fear this winter is never going to end.  Every day we inch closer to March, the weather still remains the same.  Cold .  Really really cold.  There's possible snow forcasted for later in the week.  I'm over it. And I don't know about you, but I have no desire to dress up or look cute when it's this cold.  I just want to stay in my womens pajamas curled up in bed, hibernating till spring.  Lucky Skip .  But even though I'm freezing all the time, I really don't want to become that wife .  The one who constantly looks frumpy and disheveled.  Let's be seriously, giant Marine Corps sweatshirts paired with stretched out grey sweatpants is just not attractive .  And I don't even have a newborn to blame it on though my kids are sleeping like newborns recently but that's a post for another day. So the other day, Skip and I took the girls to the mall to get a birthday present for one of Emmy's school friends.  When we got...

Spring Shopping for the Pregnant Girl

Image
First off, thanks so much to all of you for all your sweet comments on my pregnancy post!  I wish you could all follow me around all day long telling me how tiny I look...it would do wonders for my ego!  Haha.  Anyways, as a lot of you know, you start to feel less than stellar towards the end of a pregnancy {not that I've been feeling great at any time, but you know}  The weight gain and huge belly really start to drain you.  Throw in all the beautiful spring lines everywhere that I could not fit into if I tried, and a girl can start to get down on herself.  But no fear pregnant ladies, there is a way to happily go spring shopping without leaving the store feeling like a whale.  Want to know the secret?  SHOE SHOPPING!!!  I had a 20% off coupon to Payless the other day and was determined to put it to good use.  And boy did I!  I came away with not one, not two, but FOUR new pairs of shoes.  I'm in love. all images from payless....

Especially online shopping for it's ease and convience.  But the one thing I love more than shopping is a great deal.  I mean in this day and with the current economy, is there anyone who pays full price for anything any more?  I know I try my hardest not to.  This is why I am so excited to share Joss and Main with you.  Joss and Main is a "members-only private sale boutique allowing access to highly coveted brands for the home at members-only prices".  This company was created by CSN stores {and you already know how much I love them!} Here is how it works, Each day, we offer our members a carefully selected collection of merchandise intended to complete and refine your home.
