Let's Pick Some Pumpkins

Image
Skip was actually off on Columbus Day {hey, I'll take any holiday I can get}.  The girls were too, as was my best friend's husband.  We took that as a cue to head out to pick some pumpkins since it's such a rarity everyone is off together these days. The farm we went to is closing this year. I'm excited about the Wegman's we're finally getting, but bummed it's closing.  I've gone here my whole life.  So we made sure to soak up every minute possible! We went through the hay maze, saw some animals, picked pumpkins, and took tons of pictures.  It was warm that day, and such a great time!

Oh Those Summer Days

Now that it's over, I can safely say that this was one of the best summers of my life.  Not only are the girls at *such* a fun age, but the weather was absolutely gorgeous as well.  We spent hours and hours at the pool, beach, in the backyard, and every park within a half an hour drive. I'm so sad to see it go, but happy to have the memories. There are still a few things about the summer I never blogged about, and am going to try and get those done this week, mainly so I have a record of them. As much as I miss my parents living around the block from us, the fact that they live near the beach is the next best thing. We got down there a few times this summer, each time better than the last. I will surely miss this view once winter comes!

Football and Police

A few weeks ago we took the girls to two of my favorite things....Giants training camp at the stadium and National Night Out with our local police. The girls were more interested in face painting and balloon animals than actually watching the Giants, but I got to see Victor Cruz and ODB Jr, so I was happy enough.  Maybe next year we'll try taking them to a game! Eli Manning and Victor Cruz Our local police participated in National Night Out with several of the neighboring towns.  There was a K-9 presentation, lots of cop cars and firetrucks for the kids to check out, face-painting, and free food!  We got Emmy fingerpinted, played on the bouncy houses, and grabbed some free t-shirts and bracelets.  Obviously my kids have a close relationship with the law enforcement community, but it was still fun to support our local men and women in blue!

Summer > Fall

Image
Sigh, it's September...which apparently I wouldn't have known yesterday except for all the amazing people posting about it on social media.  Am since when did fall become the 'it' season?  Is that what happens when you get older?  Is it immature to get excited about summer?  Not that I care..I will be a summer girl forever.  I just seem to be the only one this days. Anyways, now that I'm done with that rant...I'm hoping to get in a few posts this week recapping our summer.  It truly has been one of the best of my life.  The weather was hot and dry, and we took advantage of every moment.  We had our fair share of lazy days, and also got a lot done.  We've been to the pool, the beach, carnivals, and pretty much every park within a 20 mile radius.  Here's a photo dump of some of what we've been up to. So you can have you PSL's, boots, and scarves.  I'll be here rocking my bikini and cut off shorts for as long as possible.  The gir...

Sweet Summertime

Hey, remember when I used to blog consistently over here?  Yeah, me either.  I want to, and I could find the time if I really wanted, but I've just been giving attention to other things recently.  But I love being able to look back at this time in our lives, so I'm going to make a more conscious effort to pop in here more. I'm afraid to say it out loud for fear it'll change, but this summer has been one of the best of my life.  Now that the girls are older, I feel like we can do so much more than we have in the past.  It has been nice and hot {except this morning, which feels like fall and makes me shutter just thinking about the winter} I absolutely love having the membership to the town pool.  We are doing something fun with the girls every day, playgrounds, playdates, running around the backyard with a neighborhood friend, exploring in the woods, and trips to the library when it rains.  There's also been pool parties, lemonade stands, and farmers ma...
