How have your workouts been in April?  Also, if you're looking for a great 100 calorie yogurt to help with weight loss, check out my taste-test!

Which Greek Yogurt Do You Like Best? Take the Taste Test!

Thanks to Yoplait for sponsoring today's discussion... Bikini season is just around the corner, and add in our upcoming vacation to Florida, I am really stepping up my healthy eating habits.  I already work out a ton, but as they say abs are made in the kitchen.  So these days I'm back to eating a yogurt every day with my lunch.  It's something I used to do back in high school in college, and as I would love to have this abs back, I'm trying to replicate my eating habits of those days as best I can! One thing that has changed since high school is that I've learned how much better greek yogurt is than regular yogurt.  It is also really helps all the stomach problems I've been having recently.  But if I'm going to commit myself to eating the same thing every day, I want to make sure I'm eating The Best Greek Yogurt there is.  So I jumped at the chance to try the Yoplait Greek 100 Strawberry and Chobani Simply 100 Strawberry Taste-Off. I was excit...

Reduced Fat Cheese For a Balanced Snack? Yes please!

Thanks to Alpine Lace® for sponsoring today's discussion.. It's no secret that I have been trying to ramp up my workouts these days.  Not only is it good for me to get out of the house and have some time to myself, but I am finding a lot of personal satisfaction in constantly pushing myself a little farther with each workout. When I was in college, I went to the gym almost every day.  But after about 20 minutes on the elliptical or bike, I called it a day.  Now as a 31 year-old mom of two, I can work out hard for about an hour a day, and am so close to running five miles at a time...something I never thought I'd be able to do. Personal motivation, encouragement from my family, and good time management have all helped get me to where I am now in my fitness journey.  But another extremely important ingredient I need every day is a balanced snack to help me fuel and or/recover from my longer workouts. Now, we've all seen the pictures of people's post-workout smoothies...

Quick to Judge

I wasn't going to blog about this topic, I really wasn't.  But the more I thought and read about it, I figure this is a great way to start some important discussions and bring some awareness to things. First off, I haven't watched The Biggest Loser in years.  I used to, religiously, but just kind of stopped.  Most of the reason was because I was a little tired of just watching the contestants cry all the time.  I never once, however, saw this show as a realistic portrayal of weight loss.  First off, it's a reality show, which in and of itself is a little fake.  Also, living on a ranch, away from all other distractions and having nothing but time to exercise will obviously produce much more dramatic results than any average person can achieve.  I did think it was getting more and more ridiculous as the seasons went on to see people losing 20+ pounds each week.  But the bigger the weigh losses, the bigger the ratings I'm sure, and all TV shows are r...

Workouts and Wendy's!

Time link up my miles again with Manda today! Thursday September 12 - 3 mile walk Friday - no miles Saturday - no miles Sunday - no miles Monday - 3 mile elliptical / 1.5 mile bike Tuesday - 2.5 mile elliptical / 2 mile bike Wednesday - 2.5 mile walk Weekly Total - 14.5 August total - 28.9 A bad cold and pinched nerve in my neck put my workouts on the back burner for the weekend, but I'm glad I got back out there for the rest of the week.  And four workouts in a week is pretty good in my book!  Ideally I'd love to make it to 60 miles this month, but I'm not sure if that'll work.  But I'll be more than happy if I can get to 50! One of the things that I struggle with the most is making sure I'm eating properly before I set out on a run.  A hungry run is never a good one!  That is why I jumped at the chance to try out their new chicken flatbread sandwiches. "Wendy’s Flatbread Chicken Sandwiches are back for a limited time. Try both flavors, Asi...

Delicious Spaghetti Squash from the girl who hates vegetables

I made a resolution to start eating better this year, because let's face my...my eating habits resemble that of a 10 year old boys dream.  Having cereal for dinner every once in a while is not going to give me all the nutrients I need. And while I fell off the healthy eating wagon the past month or so, I decided to jump right back into it.  And as I've been seeing recipe after recipe for spaghetti squash recently, I figured I'd start with that! Delicious Spaghetti Squash with Sausage {from the girl who hates vegetables} What you will need: - one spaghetti squash {this was enough for my husband and I.  Would get at least two if serving the whole family - one jar of marinara sauce {could make your own obviously, I was just feeling lazy} - one package of sausage {I prefer hot to sweet, but that's your own preference!} You could also buy seafood online and use that instead Directions: - Heat over to 375* - Pierce spaghetti squash a few times with either a fork or knife, - ...
