I can't believe we're almost halfway done with February. I love how quickly this winter is flying by. Especially with the sub-0 temps we're supposed to get this weekend, I can't wait for it to be spring. Here's a little recap of what's been going on around here. -my foot still hurts. I'm so over this. My dr gave me a nerve stimulating machine that I have to use for 30 minutes 3 times a day. It was helping, but unfortunately Skip kneeled on my foot last week, then accidentally pulled it in the wrong direction last night, so I'm in a lot of pain still. I also now think that not only did I sprain the mid foot, but also the lower ankle as well. I'll be calling the dr next week if it's not better. 7 weeks in I'm so, SO done. - Emmy is SO grown up these days. Seriously, she's 7 going on 17. That comes with it's own challenges, but I just love seeing the person she has turned into. She was doing math problems for fun tonight {so not from me}...

Catch-Up

Oh hey! How's it going. I have this routine of blogging every day for a week, then none at all.  Let's see if I can find a better balance. Let's see if I can catch you up on the last month: So my foot still hurts. The fall I took on Christmas Eve is really taking it's time getting better. After an MRI and trip to my Dr, I learned it's a lisfrac sprain. Great that nothing was torn, but this is one of the worst sprains to have. Looking at around 6-8 weeks for recovery. And that's not until I can run, just walk without a brace probably. For someone who averaged 20 miles a week at least, it's a bit of a blow. But I'm trying to move on from crying about it. I'm finally able to do some pilates workouts, so that's something. Pre-MRI selfie...cause why not We celebrated Skip's birthday.  Low-key with just dinner out with the girls and an at-home movie, but it was nice to spoil my man for the day. Christmas break was spent with me sitting on the couch...

Quick and Dirty Recap

Image
Oh hey, remember when I used to blog? I miss it SO much, but honestly have let it fall by the wayside and am not making a priority for it.  Plus with two novels under my belt and starting my third, all my creative juices are going into that. But as this is mainly a record keeper for my family, let's see if I can do a quick and dirty recap before Christmas!! We had a fabulous Thanksgiving this year....mainly because Skip was off for it!!  WAHOO!!! I hosted the first time {though my dad made all the food} and had my whole family up. It truly was one of the best Thanksgivings ever! The day before we had Emmy's 7th birthday party at Build a Bear with all her friends from school. I cannot recommend them enough. It was stress-free and the kids had a great time! On her actual birthday we had lunch at McDonalds per her request and then went to see The Good Dinosaur {which if you haven't seen, DON'T...it is not the cute, fun, kids movie you think it is}. It was such a sweet day ...

This and That

March is quickly taking the place of February as my least favorite month ever.  Yes, it is slightly  warmer and there's less snow on the ground, but it's so depressing that it's still not warm yet.  We better have the hottest summer on record just to make up for this. Just to add insult to injury, our shed blew apart in the high winds.  Sadly this has happened before during Hurricane Sandy.  Skip is less than thrilled about having to put it together again.  I'm pretty sure he fell asleep looking at houses in Florida. Skip and I got a date night this weekend thanks to my big sis.  We had a nice dinner, wandered around Barnes and Noble, and then ran some errands.  It was so nice to spend some time with him! Skip and Emmy had a special father/daughter Girl Scout square dance on Sunday.  They had such a great time and both looked adorable! I am still working on my book and getting things ready to send in when I'm ready to have it published. ...
