We're Back!

We're home from Florida!!  11 days...10 nights...5 different hotels....over 2,000 miles...two parents...one five year old...one three year old...and we all survived.  More than that actually, I would turn around and do it all again in a heartbeat {waking up to 68* here in Jersey didn't help either...I miss the heat}  I will have lots of posts coming up in the next few days.  I plan to recap each day of the trip, and then write up my tips for road-tripping with a toddler and preschooler...tips for Disney with little kids....and as we sadly became experts, how to survive Disney in the rain.

Until then I'll be slowly getting back into life with cooking, cleaning, and laundry.  Oh how I miss hotel living already!!  Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with Day 1 - 14 hours in the car with two littles!

I'm Coming Out too...Will You?

I read this article, blog, whatever you want to call it the other day and when I was finished I practically stood up and shouted, "Finally!"  To summarize, JJ Watt gives her opinion on being pro-vaccine for her children.  She backs it up with facts on how immunizations are really only effective with herd immunity, and that the theory that shots, specifically the MMR, cause autism has been disproven time and time again.  JJ Watt uses this article to "come out" as pro-vaccine, and encourages the rest of us to do the same.  The anti-vaccinators are the ones you hear all the time.  Now it's our turn to take a stand.  So that is what I am doing today.  I vaccinate my kids, and I'm proud of it . I try to stay out of the mommy wars as much as possible.  It doesn't affect my life if you co-sleep, formula feed, or clothe diaper.  Your choices on how you raise your child, doesn't affect my child in any way.  Except when it comes to vaccines....

Popping my Puking Cherry

I've been hiding a secret from all of you.  One I was too afraid to mention for fear of massive repercussions.  Until this past Saturday, I had gone 3 1/2 years of motherhood without a single puking incident. Sure we had our fair share of projectile breast milk and formula from each of the girls when they were babies, but that was it.  And that's hardly a big deal in my book.  I knew one day the stomach flu or something similar would eventually end up in our lives, but I rode out the puke-free wave as long as I could.{I also think I got to live without puke for so long since I had more than my fair share during my pregnancies} Enter Saturday.  The day of my sister's wedding rehearsal and dinner.  Skip, the girls, and I are all dressed up and ON TIME.  Something I used to pride myself on and something that rarely happens with two kids.  I had a huge diaper bag filled with everything I thought we'd need.  We hit the road and begin our hour...
