Forgotten Kiss Cookies

i love you more than carrots

There have been a lot of home projects and things going on in my house, but none of them Pinterest inspired. So this week I'm sticking with another recipe! {and really, who doesn't need another recipe this time of year....it's all about the baking!!}

Saturday night my stomach wasn't feeling too bad, so I decided to chance it with some chocolate.  But since I've been avoiding it at all costs recently, not just any chocolate would do.  I wanted it to be something different, something special.  After obviously turning to Pinterest, I came across this:
PERFECT in my opinion. So Emmy and I strapped on our aprons and got to work.

Here is the recipe I followed:
  • 1 Cup Softened Margarine {I used margarine, I would use butter next time..dough was too soft}
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup Light Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips {I only had regular ones on hand...trust me, use the mini ones}
  • 1 9oz. Bag Hershey Kisses

  • {this isn't the right way to make them, but this is what I did}
    - Heat oven to 375*
    - Mix together butter and sugars. {I always use my mixer}
    - Add in the vanilla
    - Throw in the flour
    - I used a rubber spatula to blend in the chips
    - Put the dough aside while you unwrap a million Hershey kisses
    - Wrap a bit of dough around the Hershey kiss and place on an uncreased sheet
    - Bake for 10-12 minutes {mine took a little longer}

    There is an optional chocolate drizzle on the original recipe that I was too lazy to do as well.

    Considering the changes I made though, these came out amazing.  We may have just about finished them already.  Next time I'll use real butter and mini chocolate chips.  And I'll definitely be giving them out at Christmas time!!

    What have you been baking recently?
