National Police Week Poem

" Y ou  D on't  K now  H ow  I t  F eels " O ut we go each and every day. families at home, children at play. We never know when our time is near the ultimate price, "I love you dear." L ook at me and think what you may, but in time of need, I'm on the way. Never failing to do my best, I'll lay down my life ... to this I attest. M y life for yours, does that seem fair, ask my family, if you dare. It's the career I've chose, you wouldn't understand. It's about helping others when they need a hand. Y ou beat your loved ones and drive around drunk, steal from others, act like a punk. Use your drugs and sell them too, rob innocent people because they're not like you. " G angbangers" to "wanta be's" you all try to fit in, why do you act that way ... scared of the "pen?" I'm just doing my job, you wouldn't understand. Don't want me around till you need help, man. National Police Week Poem

"I  am the  O fficer "   I  have been where you fear to be, I have seen what you fear to see, I have done what you fear to do - All these things I have done for you. I  am the person you lean upon, The one you cast your scorn upon, The one you bring your troubles to - All these people I've been for you. T he one you ask to stand apart, The one you feel should have no heart, The one you call "The Officer in Blue," But I'm just a person, just like you. A nd through the years I've come to see, That I am not always what you ask of me; So, take this badge ... take this gun ... Will you take it ... will anyone? A nd when you watch a person die And hear a battered baby cry, Then do you think that you can be All these things you ask of me? (Author unknown)

This week, May 9th through May 15th, has been dedicated as National Police Week.  It is a week set aside to remember all the police officers around the country who have been killed in the line of duty.  So let us honor and remember all those in blue who have sworn to protect our freedom.  Every day this week {I know I'm a little behind already} I will post a poem I found online about police officers.  Please keep them in your prayers always. Bye Bye Peanuts

After this incident, Skip and I made an appointment to take Little M to the allergist.  Today was her appointment, and let me tell you, it was also one of my toughest days as a mom.  After filling out ten pages if medical information at home, we headed in to our 11:00 appointment.  They quickly ushered us into the back and we met with the doctor.  We went over the story of Little M's exposure to the peanut butter and the doctor checked her over quickly.  {side note...Little M *hates* the doctor and screams during the entire exam every.single.time we go to the doctor.  So I knew today wasn't going to be pleasant for her or I} Next we went into the testing room.  The nurse explained that they would prick her back with several small needles containing traces of different possible food allergy triggers and then we had to keep Little M on her  stomach for 20 minutes {was she kidding?!?!?!?!}  We took Little M's shirt off {she had already started ...

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
“ A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ”   Washington Irving quotes I just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.  I hope you all had a wonderful day!  And a huge thank you to my mom for being the very best mother in the world.  I could not have hand-picked a better woman to be my mom.  I love you! And another huge thank you to my little girl, Little M.  I love you more than anything sweetheart and I could not be prouder or happier to be your mom.

Best Part of the Day

My favorite time of day is snuggling with Little M right before she goes to bed.  Right before I take her upstairs for a story, prayers, and songs, we snuggle up on the couch.  She drinks some milk and we watch a little Elmo or Yo Gabba Gabba {I know, I know, TV is evil}  There is just nothing better than staring down at this little girl next to me.
