A Bouncing Good Time
I don't know about where you live, but around here it's pretty popular to have birthday parties for your kid, and invite their whole class to it. We didn't have one for Emmy last year, but she went to plenty for kids in her class. We decided to save her first class party for this year when she turned five.
I'm not crazy enough to have 18 kids over my house, so we definitely wanted to rent a place to do it. After lots and lots of research, we finally settled on this bounce place about 15 minutes away. For an hour the kids would play in two different rooms filled with blow-up bounce castles, slides, etc. Then we would bring everyone into the party room for pizza and cake.
The price tag was a little more than I would have liked to spend, but the place literally did everything for us. Invitations, food, decorations, party favors, they did it all! We just had to show up and have a good time.
We held the party on November 30th and Emmy was so excited! Poor girl could barely contain herself. We did kill some time by doing her hair all special. She requested I straighten it!
Once we were all dressed and ready, we headed over! We had about 15 or so kids I think, and it was such a great group. The place was so clean, friendly, and really made it so we could just sit back and enjoy. I've already been recommending it to all my friends with kids! {sorry some of these pictures are so bad....I'd rather post terrible quality ones to remember the moment}
It was great that Charlie was able to get in on the fun and enjoy her sister's big day as well! This is definitely not something Skip and I will do every year for the girls' birthdays, but we were so happy that we did this year. The pure joy on Emmy's face that day was just priceless.
Have you ever had a "class party" for your kids birthday? Do you have it at a place or just in your home?

Looks like such a fun birthday! She is too cute!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!!! And I'm with you, I'd rather not have 20+ kids at my house! We have a bouncy place really close to us that I'm considering renting for my sons 4th Birthday.
