Vaca Recap

As I said before, our trip to Florida was not quite the relaxing, wonderful trip I had hoped it would be. But as with all things that don't go perfectly, I did learn a lot. I can best sum up my trip in the lessons I learned. - Take the extra time to do all the laundry, clean, and tidy before you go. It was so worth it coming home to a freshly made bed! - If you are escaping to Florida from the icy cold north expecting nice warm 80* weather, you will be wrong. It will only be in the 50's and low 60's...with very high winds - Staying in a place that only has 5 feet of concrete between the door and deep deep water will make for a very nervous Mommy...and a frustrated 15 month old who just wants to play outside. - Your husband getting food poisoning the first day you get to Florida and lasting for over 48 hours really puts a damper on things...and makes you both decide to leave a day early. - Watching cotton grow in fields on the side of the road is totally awesome - As awe...

Blogging Fail

Tonight Skip went out on a 'man-date' with his buddy. After putting Little M to bed I tidied up a bit, read some blogs, watched an old episode of Army Wives, did my SECOND workout of the day {yay me!}, and started sewing some new curtains for the dining room. I had promised you all a vacation recap with pictures. And while I obviously have time to post this, and get all that other stuff done, I did not get a chance to upload the pictures to my computer or type up a recap. Blogging FAIL. Promise to get to it tomorrow!

BACK!

We're back!!! We survived and got back home yesterday around 4:00pm. I have never been so happy to be home in my life! Let's just say that this was not the best vacation we've ever had. The car ride was fine and Little M was absolutely perfect. I promise a few pictures and a full recap tomorrow. But for tonight I am still trying to relax, catch up on some blog reading, and finish unpacking. Missed you all so much and I'm just so happy to be back:)

Taste of Snow

Image
Daddy, why are you putting that white stuff in my face? Well Little M, it's snow...and you can eat it. See? Now you try. Nah, I'm good Dad...I've seen Mr. B pee on it!

First Hair Cut

Image
Those of you who submitted your guesses on what this was were correct! It was a bag containing Little M's first curl of cut-off hair:( I have been putting it off for waaaay too long and after realizing her bangs were all the way down her nose, it was time. I just wanted the bangs trimmed, and didn't want to pay a ton of money to have it done at a place, so I did it myself! The other night Skip snuggled with Little M on his lap while she was watching an Elmo video. I sectioned off the front part of her hair and snipped it right off. Pretty simple and rather anti-climatic. Since it took both Skip and I to hold her and cut, we didn't get any pictures of the actual hair-cutting. But here are some after pictures. And don't worry, I can still get her hair into pigtails...she just has some super cute {and jagged} bangs to go with them!

Vacation, Vacation, Vacation

Image
The bags are packed, the house is clean, the laundry is done, the dogs are taken care of, and there is a full tank of gas in my car. Tomorrow morning {waaay earlier than I would like to think about} Skip, Little M, and I will be heading out on a roadtrip to Florida!!! I am excited, scared, anxious, and nervous. I have never been a roadtrip this long before...and definitely never with a 15 month old. There are a lot of unknowns with the trip too, which is also making me anxious. But I am determined to get outside my comfort zone, relax, and enjoy the ride! And who cares how stressful it is....I am tired of looking at this and am looking forward to seeing a little of this I will miss you all and look forward to catching up next week! {I do have a couple of posts scheduled, so keep looking back for them!}

Love Day Shirt

Image
Baby Wanted asked me to post some pictures of Little M in the Valentine's Day shirt we got her. It says 'Love Me Do' in big letters and lists the titles of other Beatles love songs in smaller letters. {disclaimer: I hate the Beatles....loathe them....always have. But Skip loves them, almost as much as my mom, and so I got this shirt for him. And because it was on sale for $1.99 at BBB}
