First Hair Cut




Those of you who submitted your guesses on what this


was were correct! It was a bag containing Little M's first curl of cut-off hair:( I have been putting it off for waaaay too long and after realizing her bangs were all the way down her nose, it was time. I just wanted the bangs trimmed, and didn't want to pay a ton of money to have it done at a place, so I did it myself!

The other night Skip snuggled with Little M on his lap while she was watching an Elmo video. I sectioned off the front part of her hair and snipped it right off. Pretty simple and rather anti-climatic. Since it took both Skip and I to hold her and cut, we didn't get any pictures of the actual hair-cutting. But here are some after pictures. And don't worry, I can still get her hair into pigtails...she just has some super cute {and jagged} bangs to go with them!

    I hear ya about the anti-climactic thing. I was all excited to cut Jack's hair the first time, but it didn't even look much different in the end. I have since kept hacking at it, and I can see a difference now. :) I'm glad she can still sport her cute little pigtails! They're adorable.

    Too cute! Her pigtails make me want a little girl NOW! :) Sounds like her first haircut went very easily. Hurray for that!

30 Miles in 30 Days

Happy Thursday everyone!  I'll be honest, I almost didn't link up today.  Mainly because there's really not much to report.  Here's what I did:   Thursday September 19 - none Friday - nothing Saturday - 2.5 mile walk Sunday - nada Monday - zip Tuesday - nothin' Wednesday - no thing Weekly Total - 2.5 August total - 31.4 Yeaaaaaah...so that whole 50, maybe 60 miles I was hoping for this month is not going to happen.  In my defense, I seem to have come down with the plague and have been sick all week.  Saturday was the only day I felt kind of normal.  I always have trouble pushing myself when I have a cold to workout, and normally end up just sitting on the couch under a blanket instead.  I really do miss working out though and will hopefully be able to get a little something done to finish out the month. What about you?  Do you still workout when you're sick?  How do you motivate yourself?

Stay Jersey Strong

There are so many things I want and need to blog about, but today the only thing on my mind is the Nor'easter heading straight for the tristate area.  High winds, rain, snow, we're going to get it all.  400,000 people in NJ alone still don't have power, and they are predicting many more will lost it again.  This is really going to set back the recovery effort and cause more damage.  So while I hope to be back to regular blogging this week {well I guess that will depend on whether or not I lose power} but today all I can do is pray that we don't lose more than we already have!  So if you can, I ask you say a quick prayer for NJ and the whole tri-state area.  We really do appreciate it so much. And to all those still in Jersey, about to weather this storm?  Remember to "Keep Calm and Stay Jersey Strong."  Sidenote, I would love for someone to make a shirt out of this saying...let me know if you see any!
