Here is a compilation of pictures of my English Bulldog, Braddock...more commonly known as "Mr. B" He will be a year old on May 24th. He is just a great big fat smelly mess, and I love him so much! Look how much he's grown!
I didn't have a chance to blog my miles last week, and so I just decided to wait until the end of the month to log my miles. I was really determined to get in 50 miles in August, but with everything going on (my Grandma, ever present knee injury, foot injury) I wasn't sure I'd get it in. Thursday August 15 - 3.1 mile run Friday - 2.2 mile run Saturday - 2.5 mile run Sunday - none Monday - 3 mile intervals Tuesday - none Wednesday - none Thursday August 22 - 3.2 mile run Friday - none Saturday - 0.5 mile walk Sunday - none Monday - 2.9 mile intervals Tuesday - 3.9 mile intervals Wednesday - none Thursday - 2.1 mile walk Friday - 2.6 mile intervals Saturday - 2.2 mile elliptical / 2.1 mile bike Weekly Total - 30.3 August total - 50 miles exactly!! BUT I DID!! I have to be honest, I'm super proud of myself for pushing and getting in the miles. I'm not sure what my goals will be for September. I might try and push for 60 miles, but I might...
Don't let this fresh-looking face fool you.... ....Up until two weeks ago, Baby C hated sleeping. I talked about it a little bit here in regards to her swaddle. But after that post it just seemed to get worse. She wouldn't sleep swaddled, or unswaddled. Most of our nights looked like this.....greasy, exhausted, zombie-like Mommy and a baby who had been up for two hours starting at 11:00 pm already. The best option we got was swaddling her in the beginning of the night while we were still up. She slept for a few hours like that most of the time. Then we would go unswaddle her before we went to bed. She would wake for a bit, sleep a bit, wake a bit, etc. It was miserable. She was napping during the day pretty good, but with a very energetic three year old running around, there was no opportunity for me to nap with her. Something had to give. I was prepared for sleepless nights when she was a newborn. But after ...
I am going to do something I have never done on this blog before...talk about something controversial. I have never touched on a hot button issue before because to be honest, I don't want negative or mean comments. And I know that they obviously come with the territory when people's emotions get involved. But with that said, the proposed building of a mosque only two blocks from the grave site of Ground Zero is something I feel very passionate about and would not feel right i I didn't voice my opinions. We all know that our opinions about things are often affected by experiences in our life and where we come from. So you must first know my background. I live very close to NYC. You can see the skyline from the street my high school was on. My father worked in downtown NYC for years and I had been passed the Twin Towers numerous times. My father lost several close friends that day. My friend J lost a friend. My friend K lost her cousin...
