Happy Fourth of July
Today is the Fourth of July. The day we celebrate our nation's freedom. Among all the bar-b-q's let us take a moment to remember all of those who continue to protect our freedom, our men and women in the armed forces. They dedicate themselves to making sure we can still live in a safe, free country. We truly are so blessed for their sacrifices. I think the perfect song for today is "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood. (it was also the song they played when my husband and his unit were getting off the plane when they got home from Iraq) I've included the lyrics below.
God Bless The USA
by Lee Greenwood
If tomorrow all the things were gone,I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again, with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars,to be livin here today
'‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom, and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,God bless the USA.
From the lakes of Minnesota,to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,From sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston, and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart, and its time we stand and say.
That I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,God bless the USA.
And I’m proud to be and American, where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,next to you and defend her still today.‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,God bless the USA.

Happy Independence Day to you! Thanks for remembering those who allow us to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th! I hope you had a great day. I'm sorry I didn't get to your Honest Scrap award. I was so sick last week I just didn't have the energy. I'm going to try and work on it this week. I really appreciate you giving me that award. Thanks so much.
