Shred It Up

I did it! I completed the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred!!! I'm pretty proud of myself for finishing it. Some days it really took some planning to get in the workout, but I realized that I really do have time to work out almost every day. That's one of the best things about this workout...it is only 20 minutes long. I may not always be able to do a an hour long workout, but I can definitely do 20 minutes.

I also really liked planning my days off. I took one day off between level 1 and 2, and again between level 2 and 3. Because I planned to take those days off they felt like treat. Before, if I didn't work out one day, I felt bad about myself. So from now on I am going to try and stick with the workout 10 days straight, one day off routine.

I have definitely seen some great results from the Shred {I promise to post pictures this week!} but I definitely don't think of my workouts as over. I really love the Shred as a jumping off point. I saw some great results in only 30 days, but still have things to work on. I don't think there was quite enough variety in the leg workouts and there was nothing that specifically targeted the triceps. I have found no better ab work though, so I'm going to rotate the level 3 workout in with some other things. I have 2 other Biggest Loser workout dvds that I want to start using...and an elliptical upstairs that is feeling sorely neglected. I also might have seen better results if I would just stopped eating brownies, cookies, and oh yeah two whole bags of conversation hearts {which I don't even really like!}. My eating habits are definitely something I need to start working on!

All in all it is a really great workout and I'm so glad I inspired a ton of my family and friends to pick it up too....good luck with your workouts guys!!

  2. That's so awesome that you were able to stick to it. I on the other hand, did it for 5 days then stopped then started back up then stopped. I found it very hard to stick to it the entire 30 days. The crazy thing about it was I too felt a difference in my muscle tone once day 5 came and then of course something came up and I couldnt do it for a few days.
I would love to know what kept you motivated. I wish I had a bud to do it with.
Congrats on finishing it and I can't wait to see your results!

  3. My husband and I have completed it as well! We're keeping up with it. I do it still about 2-3 times a week, he does it every day, level 3!!! He's lost 30 lbs. : )

  4. Way to go! That's a great accomplishment! I started it and only did it for a week because we moved and I have an 8 week old so things have been a bit hectic! I'm ready to get back on track.

  5. I am so proud of you! Very impressive!! I need to get started on the Shred. You're right there is no reason not to be able to fit 20 minutes of workout into your day!
