The Movers Concert!

Sooo, I totally didn't mean to take this mini blogging break.  But life has just been crazy busy and on the go the past few days that there was no time!  It was nice though to just step away from pretty much all social media and just LIVE.  This weekend was good for my soul and I will be doing a few catch-up posts to fill you all in!

The fun began on Thursday afternoon.  Way back in October, Skip and I heard that that Imagination Movers were doing a concert nearby.  You know, these guys from the Disney Channel...

They once aired a concert of theirs on the Disney Channel and Little M is OBSESSED.  We have it saved on the DVR, and she wants to watch it at least 3 times a week.  So when we heard about the tickets in October, we were really tempted.  But we didn't know if she would still be interested in them, and with our trip to Disney, we were saving all the money we could.

Well fast forward to two weeks ago.  Little M was asking to watch the concert on TV every day.  Skip and I remembered about the upcoming concert and found there were still plenty of tickets available.  He was easily able to take off of work, and my mom was free to baby-sit Baby C.  Since everything fell right into place, we took it as a sign that we HAD to go.  I was sooo excited!!  Little M loves dancing and singing to the TV concert so much, I knew this would be a blast!

Well Thursday quickly came and after putting on her princess skirt {of course} we were off!

The venue was pretty small, so even though we were upstairs, we didn't feel too far away.  The usher told us that the show had not been sold out, so as soon as it started, we were free to move up to any empty seats.  Sweet!

Little M was soo excited and could not wait to see every one.

Now, if you've ever seen the TV concert, you know that along with the four movers, they also have a lot of guests who pop in...warehouse mouse, Nina, Baker Ben, etc.  Some of the guests are pretty big celebrities.  Now since we were in a smaller town in NJ, I didn't think Joey Fatone would make an appearance, but I at least expected Nina, a regular on the show.

But you know who we got?  No one.  Just the four movers....that was it.  No warehouse mouse even!!  Little M was disappointed, and so were Skip and I.  The theme of the tour was Rock 2012 {I think} and so a lot of their songs were covers of rock and roll songs....songs Little M has never heard of in her life.  So while she enjoyed the songs she knew from the show, the rest of the time she was pretty bored.
A little upset over the lack of Nina

The one high spot was when Rich came upstairs and walked around shaking hands.  He shook Little M's hand and gave her a hug.  Made her day.  As he walked away she said, "Mommy, he really likes me!"

That's Rich up in the crowd
All in all, I'm glad we took her.  And considering it was her first time at any sort of concert, she did really well.  I'm just sad that it wasn't quite the experience she was looking for!
