A Day in the Life

Thirty Things #12: Describe a typical day in your life.

This is actually a pretty tough question for me to answer since "typical" is not really in the vocabulary of a cop wife.  Since Skip's schedule switches between days and nights every week, and his days off change every week as well, we're all over the place. And that doesn't include the days he works a double shift.  So I'll describe a typical day when Skip works a 16 hour shift and it's just me and the girls all day.

7:00-8:00 - When the girls usually wake up.  I change diapers, brush teeth, etc.

8:00-8:30 - Both girls get sippies of milk and some breakfast...waffles, pancakes, cereal fruit..something like that

8:30-9:30 - Girls play in the house normally.  I try to do a little blogging, tidy up, get the dogs up and outside, make and drink lots and lots of coffee and get myself ready

9:30-12:00 Get the girls dressed...we then either play outside, go to the park, or run errands

12:00 - Lunch for both girls....sandwiches, hummus, fruit, yogurt, are some of our favorites

1:00-3:00 - Both girls go down for a nap.  Emmy doesn't always sleep, but she stays in her bed and plays with some toys quietly.  I either nap, clean, read, or do some blogging.

3:00 - Post-nap milk and a snack

3:30-5:00 - Sometimes we'll go out or play outside, but we normally just play inside and I attempt to get dinner ready

5:00-6:00 - Dinner for us.  Buttered noodles are the girls favorite...chicken, vegetables, and hot dogs are also favorites

6:00 - I give both girls a bath together, put on jammies, brush teeth

6:30 - Charlie gets her only bottle of milk of the day and I put her to bed sometime between now and 7:00

7:00 - I bring Emmy upstairs for her bedtime routine...read books, sing songs, say prayers.

7:30 - Both girls are sleeping {or at least in bed}  I'll either clean, blog, do laundry, workout, or have some girlfriends over.  I'll try and catch up on some General Hospital too

11:30 - Skip gets home from work.  We hang out and catch up on our days

12:30-1:30 - We go to bed sometime then!

Days are a little different when Skip is home...but only really that we go out and do more things together, or I'm able to workout, run errands by myself
