A Much Needed Break

Yesterday was one of those really simple, but really good days, and I just had to take the time to acknowledge it.  We all got up at our usual time of 6:00 these days and got everyone ready.  Skip took Emmy to school and then came to home to pack up Charlie and head west to spend the day with his parents. 

So where does this leave me? Alone.  You hear that...the sound of silence?  Alone for 4 glorious hours.  No kids, no husband...I cannot even remember the last time that happened.  I didn't know where to begin!!

I decided to make it a fun morning for me.  So I went to the gym and treated myself to a fountain Diet Coke {my most favorite thing in the world} afterwards.

I went tanning and came home and did my nails. 

Then I took a long leisurely shower, got dressed, and did my hair and make-up {all you moms know what a luxury this is!}

All relaxed I went and picked up Emmy and headed over to my bestie's house for a little girls lunch.  Emmy was sooo good and we all had a great time.

When we got home, Emmy went down for a really long nap and I lost myself in some old episodes of Lois and Clark {don't judge, you know it was a fabulous show}

Once Skip and Charlie came home, we all had dinner, got some things done around the house, and got the girls down to bed.  Some of our friends came over to watch Tom Caughlin's "A Football Life" show on the NFL network and talk and laugh into the very late night.

So my day yesterday?  Wasn't epic...wasn't overly exciting...but it was just a really nice day, and really helped de-stress this momma a little bit!
