Let's Talk Babies!!

1. Tell us your favorite baby names? Aside from your own babies, if you have some :)
For a boy I love the names Derek, Aiden, and Bradley.  For girls I love Addison, Savannah, Cassandra, and Madison

2. Show me your "dream" nursery {can be your baby's nursery or one that you love}

3. How many children would you like to have? How far apart?
I've said this a few times on here, but we're done having children.  In a perfect world I'd have 4, but 2 sweet girls is what we are blessed with and sticking to for a variety of reasons.  Emmy was 30 months when Charlie was born.  If my pregnancies hadn't been so bad, I would have had the girls a little closer in age.

4. Tell us what you think the importance of parenting is?
I'm gonna be honest, I don't really understand this question too well, haha.  I think the importance of parenting is to raise your children in the best way you know how so that one day they will leave you and go out confidently into the world.  It's sad to think, but our children are not really ours.  They will always be my girls, my babies, but we are raising them to be their own people and make their own decisions.

6. Tell us some things you promise to never do as a parent {and if you are a parent, did you stick to it}
- Never have a DVD player in the car {I do...just portable ones}
- Don't let them watch TV before one {whoops}
- Don't give them any sort of technology at restaurants {whoops again}
- Don't deviate from a schedule as much as possible {yay I stuck to this one!}

    Thanks for the comments on my post. Your girls are precious and I love their names. I take it your name is Amanda? or Mandy? It's funny because my sister-in-law and good friend's full name is Meredith Amanda. I love both of those names. I am with you the portable DVD player. I never said I wouldn't do it but I held out as long as I could. That thing is a life saver!

    I'm getting a kick out of your favorite names! Only because I'm married to a Bradley and if I have a girl we plan on naming her Addison and my niece is named Madison! LOL! I love Jackson for a boy too! And I've recently become pretty obsessed with Hadley for a girl too! And we let Preston watch TV before one too! My bad! And have/had (they broke! BOOOO!) the DVD players (portable too) in the car, how do you do road trips without them? And I don't even attempt going to a restaurant anymore without some sort of an iSomething for back up! LOL! You gotta do what you gotta do!!

    We aren't sure if we're done having kids yet... SOOO if we have a boy, my husband is dead set on naming him Bradley! Great minds think alike :)

I read this article, blog, whatever you want to call it the other day and when I was finished I practically stood up and shouted, "Finally!"  To summarize, JJ Watt gives her opinion on being pro-vaccine for her children.  She backs it up with facts on how immunizations are really only effective with herd immunity, and that the theory that shots, specifically the MMR, cause autism has been disproven time and time again.  JJ Watt uses this article to "come out" as pro-vaccine, and encourages the rest of us to do the same.  The anti-vaccinators are the ones you hear all the time.  Now it's our turn to take a stand.  So that is what I am doing today.  I vaccinate my kids, and I'm proud of it . I try to stay out of the mommy wars as much as possible.  It doesn't affect my life if you co-sleep, formula feed, or clothe diaper.  Your choices on how you raise your child, doesn't affect my child in any way.  Except when it comes to vaccines....

I Will Fight You Pregnancy Hormones

Let's play a little game called "What's wrong with this picture?" No it's not that my bedroom is ridiculously messy. {though that is true..not all the time though, I swear!} If it's that I still sleep with a stuffed bunny, you'd be wrong too. {though that is also true...he makes a great pillow!} Yes I know I look much further along than 17 weeks pregnant, but that's not it either. Give up?  Check out my hair.  It's brown.  As in opposite of blond, brown.  Now I know most of you will be utterly shocked when I tell you this, but I am not a natural blond.  I was as a kid, but once puberty hit my strands began to darker.  But I revolted.  I have a slight obsession with love being blond.  And I have been {with help obviously} for the last 10 years or so, with the exception of my pregnancy with Little M. It's time to say goodbye...

I've known this day was coming for a while but I've been avoiding it. Seven years ago, I started this blog. I really didn't know what I was doing, haha. But a few friends from high school started ones, and it interested me. I started this when Emmy was only 4 months old and I felt completely lost as a new mom. I found others who felt the same. Blogging became a way to document my daughter's life and ask questions, find out tips, etc. Through that time I have shared our life. Emmy growing up, adding Charlie to our family, and watching them get older. I've documented vacations, day to day life, and even found a way to make a little bit of money. I've met some amazing friends on here, that I wouldn't have otherwise. It truly has been a wonderful experience But the girls are getting older and their story is not really mine to tell to the public. Also, as my writing career is starting to take off, I want to make sure my private life stays private. Because of that...
