A Dream Vacation to Paris

For pretty much my entire life, my dream was to go to Paris, France.  I took French in high school and was one class away from having a minor in it in college.  I always thought of it as one of the most romantic cities in the world.

So I felt like all my dreams were coming true in the winter of 2008 when Skip said "let's just do it...let's go to Paris!"  I hopped online, booked a hotel and some plane tickets, and starting packing.

A few weeks before our trip I got pregnant.  I didn't let it bother me, because I thought it just added extra romance to the whole thing.  Celebrating our first pregnancy in Paris!  All the croissants and chocolates I can eat!

Yeah, as you know my pregnancies were far from glowing.  And so at 10 weeks pregnant, I spent most of our romantic Paris get-away finding toilets and garbage cans to hurl into.

Needless to say, Skip and I have plans to go BACK to Paris, not with child this time.  This is obviously something we're going to really save for, and probably not do for a while, but there's nothing wrong with planning it now!!!

This is where Gogobot comes in.  It is a fabulous new website that will help you plan any trip.  And it is SO easy to use.  All I did was type in Paris, France and away I went! {Now keep in mind I was thinking DREAM vacation...not sure this would all be a reality}

First off, I'd have to find a place to stay.  For me this was a no brainer, as my obsession with the British Royal family leads me straight to The Ritz.  How many of us remember the footage of Diana walking out of these same doors!

And who wouldn't want to stay in this luxurious bedroom?!?!

Next I thought I'd concentrate on the food, which though it kept coming back up, was one of my favorite things about Paris last time.

I *love* that Gogogbot has so many reviews listed under the hotels!  Because of this I know I need to head to Angelina's, which boasts the best hot chocolate ever.

And this picture pretty much says it all as to why I have to stop in Fauchon.

But eating is not the only thing you're going to want to do in Paris.  Skip and I explored some the last time we were there, but there is much more for us to see next time!

Skip really wanted to go into the Palais Garnier last time, but I felt too sick.  So that's on our must-do list for next time.

We made it to Notre Dame, but not to Basilique du Sacre-Coeur, so that's a must for me.

I'd also love to spend more time walking around Place de la Concorde.  Which just seemed so full of activity last time!

Now who wants to come to Paris with me!

Gogobot allows you to tap into the knowledge of your friends when planning a trip anywhere. You can find like-minded travelers and inspiration for your next vacation, creating easy-to-use wishlists you can return to again and again.

And when you are not in vacation mode or planning a trip, you can discover hidden gems in your own neighborhood for entertaining guests or a weekend staycation.

The best part? Every page on Gogobot is personalized. You can see reviews from your friends and people you are following at the top, which allows you to weed out the noise and fraudulent reviews that become a problem on other review sites. Check out Gogobot today!

  1. Paris is number 2 on my travel list after Italy. I love how you said the food was one of your favorite things. Exploring food is the reason why I want to travel. Great site!
