Fitness Friday - Workout Routine
Welcome back to Fitness Friday!!
After a longer than I'd like to admit hiatus, I'm finally getting back into the workout groove! Now I don't know about you, but I'm the kind of person that can't follow a strict workout regiment. I need variety in my life.
So I don't stress what kind of workout I'm doing, as long as I'm doing something. I would like to get a little more regimented with it now though, since I think it will help tone better. Here's a list of the exercises I do on a regular basis.
Walking
If I'm feeling totally lazy, or just want a mental break more than physical, I'll take a walk. I either walk around my neighborhood or at a local park. Sometimes I'm by myself, sometimes I'm walking Charlie. I make it at least 45 min long to make sure I'm getting some cardio benefits.
Running
I hate running, truly. I'm not good at it and I don't enjoy anything but the feeling when I'm done. But if I'm feeling really motivated I'll do the c25k app I have on my phone. Lots of people have gotten great results out of it. I normally quit when you have to run for 20 min straight. Oh well.
The Gym
I have a membership to a really cheap gym in the next town over. It's a really basic gym...cardio machines, weight machines, free weights. No classes or anything. They do have childcare some hours, but I'd have to pay extra. And since I'm so cheap I just wait to go till Skip's home. I like to vary it at the gym as well. I normally do about 45 minutes of cardio {elliptical, treadmill, bike, or a combination of all} I've been getting more into the weight machines as well. I'll alternate arms and legs depending on the day.
Workout DVDs
Skip works a lot of nights and it's the perfect time for me to get a quick workout in. I love DVDs since I can do them whenever I have time, they're normally pretty short, and I feel like I get more toning out of them than I do with my normal cardio heavy workouts. Below are the ones I use the most. I have seen great results from all of them. You can tell I have a love of Jillian Michaels {all pictures were taken off of google images}
Abs
I really need to work on my abs more...MUCH more. Especially since they've been stretched thin by two pregnancies. The best workout I've found is the 30 day ab routine that was floating around the blog world for a while. I found it here. Over the summer I made it all the way to day 26. But then Braddock died and I stopped working out all together for a while. I did really start to see some results though. I started it back up yesterday though and am determined to have great abs by Christmas! Anyone want to join me?

I was thinking about starting a 30 day ab program too. I will check out the one you posted.
