A look back in Posts and Pictures
I'm gonna be honest, I'm really not that sad to see 2012 go. It has been a rough one for our family {and considering both Emmy and I are sick today it's not letting its grip go on us anytime soon}. I'm really hoping that 2013 brings far more joy and way less natural disasters:) But before I kick 2012 to the curb, it's time for a little look back...it wasn't all bad I guess.
January
Skip was actually off for the New Year and we rang it in with a small party at our house. Strangely, I'm having the same people over tonight, except Skip will be working this time:(
A few days later we celebrated Skip's 30th birthday with a big party at our place {can you tell I love to entertain?}
I had my 5 seconds of fame when THE Michael Strahan tweeted me....sigh
And I poured my heart out into one of my favorite posts.
February
Charlie finally started sleeping through the night {though I later found out she wasn't quite consistent with it yet
We threw an awesome Superbowl Party and watched my Giants get crowned World Champions for the second time in four years!
I told you Skip's and my love story and talked about how some girls {like me} don't just have morning sickness like everyone else.
March
I decided to work on a few home improvement projects and made sure to take a little pause.
I gave a little advice on life with two and finally lost all my baby weight
Our big family roadtrip to Disney took up the rest of our March. I shared my sanity-saving tips, and recaped Downtown Disney, Coco Beach, Magic Kingdom, and all the relaxing we did.
April
I shared a little college flashback with you all.
I talked about how much I love being a girl mom and just how blessed I was to be living my happily ever after {how I wish that was the same still}
I threw myself into lots more home improvement projects, such as memory boxes, repainting the dining room and living room, and repurposing a crib for a headboard.
May
We took Emmy to her very first concert
We began what would be summer-long entertaining with our friends on our back patio.
Love must have been in the air as I helped throw not one, but two bridal showers.
I tried to get out of The Funk.
June
We took a little mini-vacation down at my parent's shore house.
My sweet Charlie Bear turned one! I took some adorable pictures of her, and we celebrated with a butterfly birthday party!
MY BABY SISTER GOT MARRIED!!
July
We had a not so small tree limb come down in the yard, which started off our month of crappiness.
I talked a little bit about our every day life.
I took a stand on things I care about deeply.
Skip and I reached seven years of marriage.
Mr. B. My poor sweet Mr. B got sick, underwent surgery, and then passed away.
August
The next few weeks I was simply immursed in my grief. I never knew the huge trama that losing a dog could be. I wrote about what happened to him, and how we spent our last night with him.
I word vomited everything I was feeling and knew I would always wonder when the other shoe would drop.
We learned to live with our new normal.
I had a lot of "why me" moments and had to delve into the world of children and grief.
September
Skip and I spent the day in the city to pay our respects at the 9-11 Memorial
I got to spend a special moment with Leonardo DiCaprio
My sweet baby had her very first day of school and has been thriving ever since!
I got a little heated over a food allergy debate.
I showed off a few high school memories,
and how I dress in the late summer, early fall.
I completed my favorite home project to date.
October
I struggled with surving the meantime that we're in.
We celebrated the wedding of one of our good friends.
I got to spend a fabulous weekend at West Point with "my boys".
I turned the big 3-0 and celebrated with a night out with my friends.
I got my second tattoo to honor my sweet girls.
After preparing as much as we could, we survived the worst hurricane this area has ever seen, including days without power.
And even though Halloween got ruined, we did go get some pumpkins!
November
I focused more on the moments and trying to find a little balance.
I talked about the real truth behind being a stay-at-home mom.
And poor Charlie got her very first ER visit.
My baby Emmy turned four and we celebrated her with a horse party!
December
I shared with you about the best day of my life.
I showed off all our Christmas decorations.
The unthinkable happened and we were all affected.
I shared with you my Fear, and how focusing on the moments helped.
We learned a lesson while visiting Santa.
We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
2012 held some of the best, and worst memories of my life. My hopes for 2013 is for nothing big to happen. I just want fate to leave my little family alone...okay thanks?
Hope you all have a safe and happy New Year!
