Kitchen Cabinet Card Display
My friend K reminded me this morning that I never wrote my post about displaying my Christmas cards on my cabinets. So here you go!!
In past years, I've just taped all my cards up around the door frame leading into the kitchen. It was nice since I never really ran out of wall space, and friends loved to look around at everyone's cards. But it just didn't look pretty enough for me.
So this year I obviously took to Pinterest to find a new way. I wanted something that looked really nice, but also let each card be seen. Why display them if you can't see each and every one?
Displaying them on the cabinets seemed just perfect for me. It looked great, wasn't too cluttered, and helped bring some Christmas spirit to my sadly neglected kitchen! I also loved just how easy it was to get this done!
Here is what you need to get started:
- A roll or two of ribbon {I needed a roll and a half}
- Clothes pins {I used regular, some people said they used mini ones}
- Masking tape
- And of course a plethora of cards!
Cut a length of ribbon long enough to fit the length of your cabinet, with enough hanging down to wrap it to the back. Tape it with masking tape at the top and bottom of the cabinet.
Once the ribbon is hung, simply clip the cards to the ribbon with your clothes pins. I had both plain ones from the dollar store, and a few fancier ones from Michael's.
As you receive more and more cards, just add more ribbon to the next cabinet and so on. It's so easy to just clip them on as soon as the mail comes!
I did run out of the gold ribbon though {it was just what I had lying around the house} so I used black and white ribbon for the rest. The cards really covered up the ribbon though, so it wasn't noticeable at all.
I really just love the way it all came together!

Super cute! I am the same way with how I love displaying them yet want it too look cute not cluttered. This year I actually took the cards and put a hole in the corner with a hole punch and then tied a little ribbon on them and hung them from my tree. I loved the outcome!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cute idea.
