Friday Bits and Pieces
Happy Friday everyone! It's rainy and crappy out here, but the fact that it's 50* makes it a little more bearable. Gonna be coooooold next week!
They have to do some maintenance at Emmy's school, so she has a half day today and is off all of next week! I'm excited to get some quality time with my girl.
Skip {who has to work on Thanksgiving and Emmy's birthday} is off from Sunday to Wednesday next week! Four days of the four of us having no plans? I can't wait. It'll be the perfect relaxation time before the madness of the holidays begins.
I think it says a lot about people who have decorated for Christmas already and their lack of ability for delayed gratification.
I believe I have found the answer to what has been destroying the ends of my hair for the past two years. After doing a little research, I stumbled upon some people whose hair was ruined after using coconut oil {yes, the amazing stuff that is supposed to fix your hair}. Apparently if your hair already has enough protein in it, adding more will basically just fry the ends off. Coconut oil is something I have used every day for 2 years, and the only consistent thing I used during that time. I'm on days 3 of cutting it out completely, and I will say that my ends to feel a little bit better. I'll keep you updated on my progress!
I am so happy that Charlie will still sit in the jogging stroller for me. Emmy refused by the time she was 18 months old. Now if it could just warm up a little we could head out more!
I cannot believe the one who made me a mom is going to be FIVE next week. That just sounds soo old. I am absolutely loving her age right now though!!
I think this may be my new favorite outfit. I have a thing for layering, and this is so warm and comfy! At least it's a step up from my sweatpants.
Thanks to Timehop, I was able to see just how fast kids grow in a year! Look at the difference in Emmy in just 365 days!!
Oh my sweet Charlie bear, life is never dull when you're around.
Double fisting caffeine is the only way I am surviving most days.
We all miss Skip when he has to work a double shift.
I really need to do a complete overhaul of the girls toys. We definitely have way too many, and I'd love to be able to get it done before Emmy's birthday and the holidays!
With all the difficulty we've been having with Charlie recently, the LAST thing I want to do right now is break her of a habit. But she has been biting the ends off her pacifiers recently and it's just not safe anymore {nor do I feel like replacing a $15 wubanub every week}. So tomorrow it will be bye bye Nuks in this house! Someone please send lots of chocolate and Diet Coke. I may not survive other wise. Wish us luck!
Charlie took a long nap yesterday, so I was able to pop out for a quick run. It was way chillier than I like to run in, so I thought I'd book it for the first mile to warm up. Looks like it worked! I'm not going to lie, every new accomplishment I make in running makes me feel awesome...and want to try for more!!
Hope you all have a great weekend!!
