The best cure for a spill is ultra-fast response. It’s important to take care of a spill before it even has the chance to become a stain, where it will be much more difficult to remove. Here are some basic steps for eliminating spills and stains from damaging your beautiful carpet.

If a spill occurs, it’s important to do the following to prevent a deep, damaging carpet stain:

·         Blot excess liquid from your carpet by pressing straight down with a clean, dry paper towel. DO NOT RUB. Be sure to absorb as much as possible from the spill. It’s okay to leave a paper towel over the spill overnight, to ensure it absorbs everything.

·         Gently scratch the soil area with a blunt edge of a spoon or other hard object. Scrape from the outside toward the center, this ensures you’ve gotten rid of every part of the stain. You can repeat the blotting process again, or apply cleaning solution to ensure the stain is entirely gone.
