Wednesday Mish Mash
I can barely put a coherent thought together in my regular life, so there's no way my blog is going to be anything other than some more random thoughts today.
Please excuse my blog's appearance. I can't afford to hire a designer right now, so I'm trying to make some code changes myself. Except I really don't understand coding at all. We'll see how this turns out, but bear with me!
Skip is working on a guest post for next week!! He wrote one a few months ago, and since it was such a hit, he was inspired to write another! Make sure to check back on Monday and check it out.
Skip finally got all caught up on Scandal with me. What are were going to do every night now?!?!
Oh right, we have about 48 hours worth of JFK specials on the DVR. Husband is obsessed.
I used to go out dancing and catching up with old friends the night before Thanksgiving. HUGE bar night in this are. Now I'm excited to watch JFK specials with my husband. My 20 year old self would be so disappointed;-)
Christmas is going to be epic this year {I hope} My aunt snagged this doll house on the side of the road for us...
...and Skip picked this up from a guy off Craigslist for $30!
Thankfully those leave plenty of room in the budget for me to try and pick up some Little Einsteins toys for Charlie. Apparently they are THE MOST EXPENSIVE TOYS IN THE WORLD. Seriously, go on Ebay and search for them. Will blow your mind.
Looks like Charlie will be getting Mickey stuff instead.
I cannot believe my baby girl will be FIVE on Friday. She is so big and mature these days. I can't believe she's the same tiny squishy baby.
Emmy is having her first "kid party" on Saturday. For 5 we decided to do it up big. It's at a local bounce house and lots of her little friends will be there. We invited our families to come too. So you know what that means. NO BIG HOUSE PARTY! As much as I love throwing my girls a big special party, I'm pretty excited to not be spending the week deep cleaning, cooking, decorating, etc. I have a few simple decorations to hang for her actual birthday on Friday, and the bounce house is taking care of EVERYTHING for the party. I love the lack of stress:)
I told Skip that I'm going to start ordering all our groceries online as a way to save money. I don't think he bought it. But I really believe it will! I can take more time to search for sales and deals. Plus there will be no impulse buys! We'll have to see how it turns out.
As excited as I am for Thanksgiving tomorrow, it also makes me really, really sad. This is the first Thanksgiving without Skip's mom and without my Grandma. And Thanksgiving was my Grandma's favorite holiday. The one she always hosted and had all the family gather for. It will be so hard to not go see her tomorrow. But in hers, and my MILs memory, we will put on our brave faces for the girls, and focus on their joy. Hopefully that will get us all through!
I probably won't post tomorrow, but make sure to check back to see a letter to my sweet Emmy on her FIFTH birthday on Friday.
Hope you all have a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving!!

When we lived in Colorado, I had all groceries and milk delivered by two different companies. Saved us a ton of money! I spend entirely too much at Kroger and Sprouts weekly.
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome you were able to find both of those!
