Monday Mish Mash
Another Monday, and another snow day. What was supposed to be a light 1-3" has turned into almost 6" and another four hours left of snowing. Oh, and we're supposed to get another possible 5-10" Tuesday night into Wednesday. Seriously?!?! This is not a normal winter for Jersey. And to know we have another month or two of this is just exhausting. I'm trying to stay positive, but it's getting really really hard.
Thankfully though, we are finally over the flu! I will seriously never forget to get my flu shot again. I was sick for a straight week last week with the terrible virus. Fever, aches, pains, cough, congestion, the works. Skip and Charlie also got hit with bad colds. Thankfully Emmy got away with just a few sniffles. It's amazing to be able to do normal things around the house again!
So Jersey hosted our very first Super Bowl yesterday!! I am so happy with the way our state handled the game with such professionalism...no power outages, no problems with safety, it all went off without a hitch! Thanks mainly to my husband who was one of our cops out there keeping us safe. Look at how he got to watch the game last night!
I was bummed that Peyton couldn't get his second ring, and the game was definitely one of the more boring ones I've seen, but some good food and great friends helped make the whole day awesome overall! Now how many days until training camp?!?
The only bonus to this never ending snow and illness is getting to spend so much quality family time. I especially love watching the girls interact and play together. These are the moments I started dreaming about as soon as we found out Charlie was a girl.
We've also had to bust out some really interesting ways to keep busy these days. Charlie definitely makes that easy!
Emmy is also at such a fun age recently. She loves being a "big girl" and helping around the house. She is son helpful at cleaning up by herself, getting food and drink for her and Charlie, and just helping around the house. Last night during the game, I sent her upstairs by herself to brush her teeth, get hanged into her pj's, and tidy up her room before bed. She happily went up and did it all while I sat with our friends and watched the game. It was amazing!
I'm also a big fan of the hairdressing and dance parties we've been having nightly.
Okay, so maybe all this snow and forced inside together-ness isn't so bad after all {though just as I was typing this sentence Skip came in from shovelling before he heads out to work and after using a few more colorful words told me to start looking at houses to buy in Florida}
Hope you all enjoy your Monday and can someone else take some of this snow for a while? Please?

The girls are too cute and funny! We're supposed to get ice starting this afternoon! I'd rather have snow than ice!
