Flashback Friday

As the NFL draft is currently taking place the next few days, I figured it was the appropriate time to share some old photos of Emmy from the first time we took her to Giant's stadium.  For years our friends and I had attended the big draft day party the Giants held every year.  And when Emmy was 5 months old, I was beyond excited to have her join in the tradition!

Sadly this was the last Draft Day party held this way.  They stopped them for a while, and now they're only open to season ticket holders.  But I'm glad that we got to bring Emmy when we did at least!  I promised Emmy we could go down and watch training camp this summer, and she's super excited.  I'm glad she's starting to love football as much as her mom.  Good thing I got her started off so young!

    This is the first year I had a lot to do with the draft. It was fun! Looks like you've been having fun for a long time.

Stay Jersey Strong

There are so many things I want and need to blog about, but today the only thing on my mind is the Nor'easter heading straight for the tristate area.  High winds, rain, snow, we're going to get it all.  400,000 people in NJ alone still don't have power, and they are predicting many more will lost it again.  This is really going to set back the recovery effort and cause more damage.  So while I hope to be back to regular blogging this week {well I guess that will depend on whether or not I lose power} but today all I can do is pray that we don't lose more than we already have!  So if you can, I ask you say a quick prayer for NJ and the whole tri-state area.  We really do appreciate it so much. And to all those still in Jersey, about to weather this storm?  Remember to "Keep Calm and Stay Jersey Strong."  Sidenote, I would love for someone to make a shirt out of this saying...let me know if you see any!

30 Miles in 30 Days

Happy Thursday everyone!  I'll be honest, I almost didn't link up today.  Mainly because there's really not much to report.  Here's what I did:   Thursday September 19 - none Friday - nothing Saturday - 2.5 mile walk Sunday - nada Monday - zip Tuesday - nothin' Wednesday - no thing Weekly Total - 2.5 August total - 31.4 Yeaaaaaah...so that whole 50, maybe 60 miles I was hoping for this month is not going to happen.  In my defense, I seem to have come down with the plague and have been sick all week.  Saturday was the only day I felt kind of normal.  I always have trouble pushing myself when I have a cold to workout, and normally end up just sitting on the couch under a blanket instead.  I really do miss working out though and will hopefully be able to get a little something done to finish out the month. What about you?  Do you still workout when you're sick?  How do you motivate yourself?
