Blips and Blurbs
Happy Wednesday everyone! It's actually more like our family's Saturday since it's Skip's first day off..yay!! There's a lot I've been wanted to say recently, so what better way than a random mish mash post.
- I am still very sad over the death of Robin Williams. The world is just a little less bright without him. Such a loss in the entertainment community...Hook, Mrs. Doubtfire, What Dreams May Come, Good Will Hunting, these are some of my most favorite movies. The military community will feel a hole he once filled. I don't know if people realized just how much Robin Williams did for our troops. He was the entertainer who went over to Iraq and Afghanistan with the USO more than anyone else {including when Skip was there!}. And depression has claimed another victim. My heart breaks thinking he, or anyone for that matter, got to a place where leaving this world is the best option. He surely will be missed by all.
- Emmy starts back to school three weeks tomorrow. I cannot believe it!! I am so not ready for summer to be over. I feel like it barely got started! I do not want to have to start bringing our my scarves and boots soon.
- Because of this, the girls and I have been having lazy days outside as much as possible. The laundry can wait.
- I have been working on something recently {hence the fewer posts around here} that I am so excited about. I'm not ready to talk about it on here yet, but I haven't been this excited about something for a long time. We'll just have to see where it goes.
- Skip has been working some long, strange hours recently. Last night was no different when he got home at 2:30. Sadly I hadn't gone to bed yet either as both girls were up for a bit at some point. It's definitely a pass the coffee kind of day today.
- So a friend of mine challenged me on Nike+ the other day. He challenged me to run 50 miles in the next two weeks. 50 miles!?!? I mean totally doable if the girls were in school or Skip's schedule was consistent enough for him to be home during daylight hours every day. But that is not our life. I am determined to win though, and have been holding on to my lead so far. I'll probably get injured trying to get this done, but I refuse to give up. Bring it on!
- There is a lot going on in our country these days. Most of which I will not form an opinion on until all the facts are out. But I am seriously horrified at the way cops are being treated. Things being thrown at them, death threats, none of this is okay. Are there bad cops? Absolutely. There are bad people in every line of work. But our men and women in blue do not deserve this. I'm working on a whole blog post about this, but this will have to do for now.
- This summer I realized two absolutes about my life. My house will always be a little bit messy, and someone will always be crying. Ahh life with girls.
- Watching a 5 year old and a 7 year old Face Time is probably the funniest thing I've ever seen.
- Rewatching Grey's Anatomy never gets old.
- This summer really has been so so good. We have accomplished almost everything on our bucket-list. Hopefully we can get the rest done in the next few weeks!
- Pretty Little Liars was so good last night. I feel like we are finally starting to get a few answers. I knew I never trusted Ali! I'm excited to see what the next two episodes give us.
Hope you all have a great Shark Week!!

I can't believe summer is almost over either, but I'm kinda ready for fall. I'm a in the 60s-70s kinda girl. I'm also ready for football.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sure you'll kick some booty in the that running challenge!
Someone will always be crying almost sounds like my life - with no little girls haha! I love it when you post about LEO stuff because I understand that life too well. And of course love the pictures of your girls!
