A Power Ranger Dance Party
I have gotten embarrassingly behind on things I want to blog about, but hopefully this weekend I can get caught up a bit!
Let's start off with a recap of Emmy's birthday, back on Saturday November 29th. First off, I loved that her birthday was on a Saturday this year, because she was born on a Saturday as well. It made for a lot of reminiscing about the day she was born.
She woke up nice and early and came bounding into our room. She could barely contain her excitement over the day.
We went downstairs for some gift opening and donut eating {after we sang happy birthday and she blew out the candle in the donut of course}
We relaxed for a bit and then got ready for her "friend party".
We invited all the girls in her class and one of my bestie's and her three daughters, and had it at Emmy's dance school. Per Emmy's request it was Power Ranger themed, and the girls all had a fabulous time! {well except Charlie who apparently thinks dancing is the most evil thing in the world}. They learned a little bit of a routine and also got to do a little tumbling. Perfect for these sweet girls! Afterwards there was pizza and cake and more singing! Everyone seemed to have a really good time, and it was low-key and simple for us!
The girls had a little rest when we came home. Our plan was to relax a bit, then head out to Friendly's for dinner, per Emmy's request. But the closer it got to dinner time, the more ornery the girls got. It had been a long-sugar filled day, and they were definitely showing the effects. So rather than try and wrangle them out in public and all of us end up miserable, we just picked up Friendly's take-out and ate at home. Much less stressful.
Overall, Emmy had a wonderful day and we loved getting to celebrate her. I still can't believe I have a SIX year old!

Omg, I had no idea kids still watched Power Rangers! One of my favorite shows as a 90's kid! What a fun party!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe she is six! Happy Birthday Emmy! And I am pretty sure my fifth or sixth birthday was Power Ranger themed... at McDonalds. So 90s Jersey!!
