Introduction

I've been meaning to carve out more blogging time, so when I saw Kelly is reviving her 'Show Us Your Life Fridays' I thought I'd jump on! I used to do this link-up years ago and always loved it!

Today's topic is an introduction. So whether you're an old follower, or new, here's a little but about me!

My name's Mandy, I'm in my early 30's, and I live in New Jersey {best state ever} I've been married to my husband Skip for over a decade. He is a combat veteran of the Marine Corps and currently works in law enforcement.

We have two sweet little girls. Emmy is 7 and Charlie is 4. They are the sweetest, silliest, sisters you've ever seen and I'm so lucky I get to call them mine.

I'm a former teacher-turned SAHM-turned wanna be novelist. I've got two {unpublished} books under my belt. But thanks to some advice from someone I'm unofficially working with, a third book will be my best chance at a print deal. So that's what I'm working on now! It's a very exciting process.

I absolutely love running, though am currently sidelined since I sprained my foot in two places on Christmas Eve. I like to aim high.

I don't care that Diet Coke isn't good for you, it's my favorite drink in the world.

I'm a HUGE NY Giants fan and my team won our fantasy football league this year!

I'm most happy lying on the beach.

No one should ever attempt to limit the amount of chocolate they consume.

I don't watch reality TV, but I can rewatch The West Wing constantly without getting sick of it.

I spent almost as much time reading as I do writing. Women's fiction, romance, and New Adult Fiction series are my favorites.

I love long road trips and wish we lived in Florida.

Can't wait to 'meet' everyone else!

  1. If you aren't familiar with Monica McCarty's books, you should read them. Almost all are Scottish romance books, with the added bonus of being somewhat historically accurate. The best thing about her is she is very fan friendly and gives helpful hints to aspiring authors like yourself. She has a lot of friends who write other types of books (I think most write romance novels) and she is always talking about workshops that she attends with them. I suggest checking out her homepage (www.MonicaMcCarty.com) or find her on FB.

  2. You need an entire post dedicated to how you talked your husband into matching pajamas! Mine would die, but it is on my bucket list for next year! Two books is a huge accomplishment. I read that 12 publishers turned down Harry Potter before it was finally published. Best of luck!
