2 on Tuesday - Pet Peeves

Image
I'm linking up with Andrea again this week for her 2 on Tuesday! Today's topic is: What are your pet peeves? { I'm warning you now...I definitely have more than two of these! 1. Drivers who cut you off and then drive reeeeaallllyyyy slowly.  This is Jersey people...we drive fast and have places to go! 2.Word Verification on blog posts...I know, I've been just terrible with commenting recently, but when I do have time to write a little something, I don't want to have to go through this whole long process to do it. 3. Moms who act superior to other moms and that their way of doing things is the best.  Let's be honest....none of us really know what we're doing.  We constantly second guess decisions we're making...we don't need other people telling us we're wrong too. 4. Any kind of precipitation.  I am really only happy when it is sunny and warm.  I really should move down south. 5. Bloggers and Tweeters who write things just to get attention, unne...

Pause to Remember

The Soldier It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag. By Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC photo from google.com As we all know, today is Veteran's Day. It is a day to remember and thank all the men and women who have selfless served our country in the armed services. I am so thankfully on this day for my husband. His courage, bravery, and willingness to put others first humbles me every day. Since we have survived a dangerous deployment together, I never take even one day that I have with him for granted. I am happy that he served and am so proud to be called...

Tiny Prints Christmas Cards

Image
It's only the beginning of November and I already feel like I'm behind everyone else on my Christmas preparations!  So it's time to at least buckle down and start searching for some Christmas cards.  I used Tiny Prints for some of my cards last year and was so impressed with them!  They were so easy to work with and the quality can't be beat.  So of course I headed over there to check out the new cards they have.  And honestly, I was blown away!  They have so many new choices! First off, their flat cards continue the design onto the back...how smart is that! photo found here They also have some super cute circular cards that look like ornaments! photo found here And seriously, how adorable are these square ones? Photo found here I'm seriously having a tough time deciding!!  What do you think? I've also been trying to think of a new way to display all the cards we receive.  In the past I have just been taping them up around the door frame in th...

A Little About Me

Image
I'm stealing this from Andrea today for a little lighthearted fun this *gorgeous* Wednesday.  There's too many horrific things going on in the news recently, I just needed a little break from it all! Guilty Pleasure? Naps and tanning {yes I know it's bad for me...I've heard it all before} I can't travel without? Chapstick, sunglasses, and my cell Recent Splurge? Nothing, honestly.  There has been a huge cut back on overtime at Skip's job so money's a little tighter these days.  And any extra we have is going towards a little family vacation in the spring My go-to flower? Tulips and sunflowers In bulk, I buy? TONS of stuff.  It is amazing the amount of money we have saved shopping at BJ's.  Formula, diapers, wipes, soda, water, tissues, napkins, paper towels, cleaning products, cereal....I could pretty much go on for days I sleep on? A queen pillow-top mattress that I also has a feather bed on top....pure heaven Comfort Food? Pizza or a sesame bage...

Shutterfly Holiday Cards

Image
I normally try not to think much about Christmas until after Thanksgiving, but with the 9" of snow we had in October already, it's hard not to get into the holiday spirit.  And  while it's definitely too early to be wrapping gifts and decking the halls, it's the perfect time to start checking out the Shutterfly Christmas card line!  I used Shutterfly for some of my cards last year and could not have been happier with the results.  Seriously, I was stunned at how beautiful they were!  I received so many compliments on the quality of them.  I am already having a little trouble with this year's card though....I can't decide which of the designs I like most!  And with two very special little girls to adorn the front, this decision is very important!  I think I've narrowed it down to a few contenders though.  I love the simplicity of this one.  Also, referring to my girls as blessings is something I do all the time! I could go with the same...

Proudest Moment

So in case you are new around here and haven't heard already...I'm pretty much the biggest Giant's fan on the planet.  Seriously.  Who else waits for 4 hours online 9 months pregnant just to see Tiki Barber?  Or who convinces her unborn first child to make her appearance into the world the day before her due date so I won't miss the Giant's game that Sunday.  This girl, that's who. So obviously, I want to pass on my football love to my girls.  But Little M, has *hated* fooball pretty much since she could tell me her feelings.  Every Sunday she would constantly run around the house yelling, "No football, no football!!"  I always made her wear her jersey, but that's pretty much all she would do. But last night, the stars aligned and my girl finally saw the light.  It was the fourth quarter and the game was starting to get really close {we were playing the Patriots after all}.  Little M climbed up on the couch and said, "Hey Mommy, I watch footb...

Ride 'Em Cowboy...errr Cowgirls??

Image
We were so happy to come home to Skip and a warm house on Monday, but we didn't have time to just sit and relax in it....we had some trick-r-treating to do!!  Both my girls dressed up like Jessie from Toy Story {I'm a lazy mom, what can I say}  And Skip donned a cowboy outfit to match them! First we drove around and did some visiting with family and friends.  Then we hit the town!  A lot of towns banned trick-or-treating because of all the downed power lines and trees, but we were lucky enough not to be one of them!  I pushed Baby C around in her stroller for the first few houses and then brought her in the warmth while Skip and Little M finished getting as much candy as possible! {a post on how Halloween is a food-allergy parent's nightmare will be coming next week!} Kinda looks like the end of the world huh? We really had to navigate around all the branches down! Pleased with her latest aquisition of candy! Giving the stink eye since I won't let her have ...
