If I Won the Lottery

Image
I'm a little late in linking up with Becky this week, but this topic is so fun I just had to join in still!! This week we are talking about what I would do if I won the lottery. Okay, first and foremost I would probably totally and completely freak out .  Once I was done waking up the sleeping babies with my screaming and crying, we would get a plan in order. First, I would have a lawyer claim my money {don't want any creep-o's from my past trying to get their paws on my money}.  We would obviously max out the girls college funds first, set aside enough for their elementary and high school tuition, and invest a huge chunk of it.  Now onto the fun stuff! I'd probably encourage Skip to quit his job.  I'd definitely want a bigger house...nothing too huge, but definitely lots more room. Our family and friends would be well taken care of as well. I'd want to take a long, possible two week trip with Skip and the girls to Disney.  Then I'd want to take another tri...

Moments

Image
Sometimes my favorite moments are the most simple.  The unplanned ones.  The ones that only last a few moments. The silly ones. The ones of just me and my biggest snuggling in my bed for just a few more moments post-naptime. I will surely miss these moments when they're gone.

30 Miles in 30 Days - July weeks 1 and 2

Image
Time for another week linking up with Manda for our 30 miles in 30 days! Monday July 1 - 2.5 mile elliptical Tuesday - none Wednesday - 2.5 mile elliptical Thursday - 2 mile run Friday - 2 mile run Saturday - none Sunday - none Monday - none Tuesday - none Wednesday - 3. 5 mile elliptical July total - 12.5 miles Unfortunately I seem to have hurt my knee pretty bad.  It wasn't a sudden thing, but came on gradual.  I took the four days off of working out to rest it.  The elliptical aggravated it a little more yesterday, so I'm not sure how I'm going to do mile-wise coming up.  I'm torn between loving and really wanting to workout, and not damaging myself permanently.  We'll just have to see! Go link up with Manda and join in the fun!

Be Ready to Change

Image
As I said yesterday , we as parents have to learn to roll with the punches.  Life, and even our children, throw a lot of curve balls at us.  So we've really gotta know when to duck. My older sister, who lives just under two hours away, was having a Fourth of July party on Saturday.  She lives about 5 minutes away from where my parents just moved, so I would stay with them for the night after the party. Skip was working, so he wouldn't be able to come with us.  But I was excited to head down with the girls, my sister always  throws a great party, and I was looking forward to spending some time with my parents. Skip left for work on Friday at 2pm, and we we're going to see him until Sunday morning then {he had to work a double that night} The girls and I were up at 5:30 am on Saturday to hit the road, only want to avoid being stuck on the Garden State Parkway in the middle of the summer. We made it there with no traffic, and headed right to my parent's house...

Rollin' with the Punches

Image
As a parent, I am constantly given huge in your face gentle reminders that a huge part of parenting is learning to roll with whatever challenges life throws at you.  As parents we plan, plan, plan, down to the littlest detail.  And then we have to be prepared to throw it all right out the window on seconds notice. My Fourth of July was kind of like this. Skip and I were so excited for the 4th.  He was off duty, which pretty much never happens and we were going to enjoy the day to the fullest.  Nothing too crazy was planned, just a morning parade, playing outside all day, and then a cookout with my baby-sis and her husband.  We knew Charlie would freak if we took them to fireworks, so we were just going to keep Emmy awake to watch them on TV.  Nothing too crazy, just a fun-filled family day. I was so excited about our little day as a family that I really should have been paying much closer to the little signs that morning.  Mainly when Emmy kept compl...

My Weaknesses

Image
52 Weeks of Blogging With a Purpose: Your Biggest Weakness Wow, talk about putting it all out there on the Internet.  Writing a post all about the things I need to work on is a little intimidated....so much so that I almost skipped this week's link-up entirely.  But maybe putting myself out there, admitting how far from perfect I am, will help me to change some of these things.  Then I won't have to be ashamed of them anymore. I am judgemental . This is the trait I really want to change the most.  I hate that I judge people.  I judge their actions, the way they live their lives.  Never to their faces of course, but that doesn't make it better.  Even having thoughts about how I think people should live their lives differently is wrong.  Who am I to judge them on decisions they make when I know mine are far from perfect most of the time.  I have a temper. Honestly, I never really knew I had a temper until Skip and I got married and moved in to...

Cleveland Game Improvement Irons

One of the common themes among people who are somewhat new to the game of golf is that they are always looking for something new to take their game to the next level. One of the best things you can do to become a better golfer is to use Cleveland Game Improvement irons . These clubs will allow you to work on the problems in your game and make sure that you are actually able to see an improvement in your stroke over the long term. There are plenty of different people who say that they have the secret to better golfing, but the only real secret is that practicing is what will make you better. There are tons of people out there who will tell you that you need to use a certain club or hit a certain ball to get better results, but the fact of the matter is that practice makes perfect. The reason that these particular clubs could be helpful is that they are built for the practicing process.  You should probably not use these clubs while you are playing an actual round of 18, but they are...
