Dog Days of Winter - Make It {Recipe Style}
I'm excited to be linking up with some of these fabulous ladies for their Dog Days of Winter today!
Today's challenge is Make It! So this week I decided to make some recipes I found on Pinterest. I've been trying to expand my recipes lately and Pinterest is a great place to do it.
The other night I decided to tackle these two recipes, Olive Garden Alfredo sauce and Mini garlic monkey bread.
I changed the recipe up a little, and this is what I did.

Alfredo Sauce
1 pkg Pasta {I used gluten free penne because that's what I had on hand}
1 stick of butter
2 tablespoons of chopped garlic
1 pint of heavy cream
1 cup of fresh Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp cream cheese
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Cook pasta according to directions. Melt butter over high heat. Add in garlic and cook for two minutes or so. Add in cream and heat until bubbling. Add in Parmesan cheese and cream cheese. Heat until all melted. Add in salt and pepper to taste. Then pour over pasta.
I cannot tell you what a hit this was! Both girls had second helpings and Skip and I were practically licking our plates. This will definitely be making it into our weekly rotation!
Of course we needed a little roll or something to go along with it, which is where the mini garlic monkey bread came into the picture.
Mini Garlic Monkey Bread
1 can of Pillsbury Grands biscuits {you could use two cans, and double the recipe, but I just had one on hand}
3 Tbl. butter, melted
2 tablespoons of chopped garlic
1 tablespoon of basil {the recipe called for parsley, but I only had basil and I think it complimented it really well}
1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
plus 2 Tbl. to sprinkle on top
Cut the biscuits into four pieces and place in a bowl. Combine the rest of the ingredients except for the 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese. Pour ingredients over the biscuits and mix well. Place about 5 pieces of the biscuits into each of a greased 6 cup muffin tin. Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese. Bake at 400* for 12-14 minutes. Makes 6 rolls.
These were so garlic-y and delicious! I will be making these again as well!
What have you been making recently??
