Image
Lindsey is bringing back her Fashionista Friday Link-up and you know I just had to join in with my Jersey girl!! Today's topic is Favorite Neutrals, and this is what I came up with: Blacks and browns are my g0-to neutrals in the fall, and love that the leopard print spices them up a little! What neutrals are you wearing these days? Happy weekend everyone!!

Nuby Travel Utensil Set

Image
Unknown to the girls, we are hopefully planning an epic trip to Florida this summer...most of which will be spent in Disney!  As with the last two trips to Florida, we plan on driving down.  That's about 24 hours, two days of driving with two parents and two kids.  With that comes lots of stops to eat and take snack breaks.  And with Charlie is still using baby utensils as she works on her fine motor skills, this poses some problems when eating most of your meals on the go.  Thankfully Nuby has a fabulous Travel Utensil set that solves all my problems! "The Nuby Travel Set is designed to keep your baby's utensils and your diaper bag clean, tidy, and hygienic whilst out and about.  The handy travel case comes with an easy to use spoon and fork set and is perfect for mom and baby on the go." This is absolutely perfect for our road trip this summer, as well as lunches and dinners out as a family.  It easily fits in my purse and cleans up perfectly!...

30 Miles in 30 Days

Image
Wahoo!!!  It's Thursday.  Not only is there some good football, Greys, and Parenthood on tonight, but Skip is off for the next FOUR days.  Mainly because my birthday is on Saturday and that boy knows that having him around is the best gift ever!  Now time to log my miles for the week...and I have to say, I'm pretty pleased! Thursday October 10 - 3.5 mile run Friday - none Saturday - 3.6 mile run Sunday - none Monday - 3.3 mile run Tuesday - 3.7 mile intervals / Power yoga Wednesday - 1 mile walk Weekly Total - 15.1 October Total - 26.2 Wahoo!  I ran a whole mile in October so far!  haha.  I would have liked to have done one more workout this week, but I am really happy with my mileage.  I did battle some shin splints and foot pain but I'm hoping that doing more yoga and my brand new running shoes will help that.  I'm on track to run at least 50 miles this month...maybe 60 {which I've never done}  Let's see if I can do it! ...

Pumpkin Patch

Image
On a whim, Skip and I decided to take the girls for our annual pumpkin-picking outing.  We've gone to the same farm every year since Emmy was born, but since it's closing some time soon, we decided to explore other options. There's a cute petting zoo at a farm a little farther from the house we've been bringing the girls to for years, and I got so excited when I remembered they have pumpkins too! The girls were most excited about the animals, but had a great time picking out their own pumpkins as well. It was such  a good day to spend as a family.  Now hopefully we'll be able to carve and decorate them without a hurricane this year!! Also, can you believe how fast they grow in a year?

Tuesday Mish Mash

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It's chilly here in Jersey this morning.  As I sit here in my sweats, with the heat on, sipping my coffee, I can't help but already yearn for the summer.  I was totally born in the wrong climate.  There's nothing I like more sometimes that a random brain/photo dump post, so here you go! I don't know why people get offended when people unfollow them as soon as a giveaway is over.  If you're making people follow you just for a giveaway, doesn't it seem strange to assume they'll stick around forever?  I get it, I host my fair share of giveaways, and while it would be nice for people to find and fall in love with my blog that way, it's not a big deal if they don't. We got this new edition to our kitchen a few weeks ago and I am in love!  I always wanted an island but was never sure if we had enough room or not.  But I jumped at this piece when my mom offered it to me.  It was in my childhood home while I was growing up, a...

Health and Fitness for my Shiba

Image
Good morning everyone! I hope this holiday-for-some start to the week is giving everyone a little more chance to relax. Today I want to introduce you to someone very important. Someone you may have seen before, or depending on how long you've been around here, you may not have. This is Shiba. No, she's not a fox. She's our OB {original baby} and she's a Shiba Inu. Real original on the name, I know. We got Shiba when she was only 4 months old, back in the spring of 2005. Skip had just come home from Iraq. He had wanted a dog for years, and with our wedding only a few months away, we figured it was the perfect time. Let me tell you, we searched for weeks and played with tons of dogs before we stumbled upon Shiba. She was a skinny little thing, all curled up in the back of her cage at the pet store. She was shaking a bit, as though she was afraid of the world. One look at her, and I was hooked. I was not a huge dog person at the time, so if we were going to get ...
